Foxy, well aly can 'ask' whatever she wants, she does not represent the religious community, and it's a disgraceful attempt at point scoring by over-reaching so far that she over balanced and fell on her face regarding her comment 'if we give racism a tacit nod-things could get out of hand'.
Maybe in 'her' mind, but would caution her to not make such 'absolute' and preposterous comments, when she has absolutely no idea of what she speaks.
So unless she knows of or intends to start something that is intended to 'get out of hand', I would strongly suggest she SHUT UP and leave well enough alone.
18C is not in at fault in any way.
Religion is religion, if someone breaks the law, whether claiming to do it in the name of God or not,18C didn't break the law, the bad guy did.
So leave religion out of it, because I guaranty you now, it will start the biggest sh!t storm in ages.
No-one likes their faith being interfered with so aly can go face herself.
Whether you or aly or anyone likes it or not, racism is and has always been around, and it's not going away because some limp dicks and dreamers want it stopped.
It is part of the human physique and emotional spectrum, the sooner those pushing against it accept that it is part of life, the sooner they can move on emotionally.

Dear Armchair Critic,

Just be honest one this one please. You support racists because you are a racist. Plain and simple, no if or buts. One can't use the term 'African breeders' and expect to be considered anything else.

Now that that is out of the way let's look at the issues.

Should someone be allowed to film in a public place? Within limits they certainly should. Would the public have a right to refer concerns about someone without children of their own sitting close constantly filming kids in a playground? Most would say yes.

If I were picnicking with my family and this tosser Erikson was to stand over us filming then I wouldn't give a rats about his rights, that camera would end up in the drink.

So the question becomes is it reasonable for the people in your original link to be upset at being filmed in the manner they were? If they had been engaged in an altercation then no. But these were apparently just playing soccer. If it is reasonable for me to be pissed off having a camera shoved in my face by a tosspot then it surely must be reasonable for others.

Erikson said later in the video he was filming the altercation between the police and the group, but it was an altercation he provoked by his trolling. That being said once a police officer is assaulted then that person needs to be dealt with immediately.

So to go through your questions;

- Should Police be allowed to force someone to leave a public space simply for filming on their mobile phone?

No, and that didn't happen in this instance. They were asked to move on, they didn't and the officer did not force anyone to do anything so why have you beaten this up?

- Is this a restriction upon citizens rights of free movement as well as freedom of the press, if a person wished to report on a situation in the community?

These guys are professional trolls. Far right extremists filming a friendly soccer match doesn't fit the description of a 'situation' in most people's book though I accept it might in yours.

- Should there ever be any right to privacy in a public space?

Society accepts that generally no, there isn't a right to privacy. However there is a right to be free from intimation and harassment. The police asked that Erikson put some space between he and his crew and the soccer players. Perfectly reasonable request in my book.

- If CCTV cameras do not seek our permission to film us in public, why should we personally be restricted from doing the same?

No and they weren't in this instance either.

- And what happens if a crime occurs when people are not allowed to film and the criminal gets away with it?

Don't be an idiot as well as a racist.

And finally why do news organisations focus on the 'white-racist pro-multicultural' narrative?

They don't. The media has overwhelmingly focussed on young Christian South Sudanese youth engaging in criminal and anti-social behaviour. In one of the very few instances when the focus has shifted briefly you lot of bottom feeders are here claiming victimhood.

Pathetic.

Shadow Minister,

Dr Aly was not talking about outlawing free speech.
It was hate speech that she was
referring to and the fact that if we allowed people
to say whatever they wanted to the detriment of
others then they should accept the consequences.
She was trying to prevent those consequences.
She is a counter-terrorism and anti-radicalisation
expert. She is against violent extremism. She
was merely doing her job.

Also, as you know people who enjoy the rights of
free speech have a duty to respect other people's
rights. A person's freedom of speech is limited
by the rights of others. We have laws against libel,
slander, against hate speech,
urging violence, and so on.

To SteelRedux through the chair- You are bigoted because you prejudged someone as evil and used a demonizing term (racist) without understanding their reasons for their beliefs.

They say the first casualty of war is truth. Who brought in the massive numbers of immigrants to create this conflict- the liberals on the left (Soical Liberals) and the right (Small L Liberals). They disregarded and discredited the public in their concerns and now there is war. Now anything goes.

Paraphrasing Sun Tzu- "Those that attack their own people and then live to fear them are the height of stupidity."

Another says "Teach before you preach".

Chesterton's Fence- there's a reason why people believe what they do- even if you don't understand it- or if it's not in your interest to believe it.

"Look at the log in your own eye."

Communists have a pretty big log.
