CM: Re your link.

<In 2014, Aly was a panelist on Islam and terrorism at an Australian Coalition meeting. In 2015, Aly announced that her organization, People Against Violent Extremism had raised $40,800 for a mentoring program for young activists. The mentoring program includes training through MyHack, which trains university students to brainstorm and develop counter-messaging to extremist propaganda online.>

I guess she mentors non-moslims not to be violent against moslims not the other way around. Just going on her performance in Parliament.

I mentioned Dr Anne Aly because she is against
violent extremism. Telling stories about extremists
can encourage derogatory actions from others,
and can have very undesirable affects on innocent people's
lives as the following link explains:

When you have a society that enables people
to say and do things, to act in ways that
targets certain groups, that alienates certain
groups, it has an impact.

Dr Anne Aly is a counter-terrorism and anti-
radicalisation expert. She was not just talking
about things that might affect minority groups.
She was also talking about a radical Muslim
preacher standing up and making derogatory
remarks about Jews and Christians.

Former Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull stated
that all Australians should be opposed to
racism in any form. Dr Aly asked that the
18C Racial Discrimination Act not be watered
down and should include religion. As she pointed
out, if we give racism a tacit nod - things
could get out of hand.

Belly, WTF.
You cannot defend the indefensible.
Reason and common sense have been a part of me as far back as I can remember.
I don't get sarcasm, doesn't mean I don't try it on rare and appropriate occasions.
I am a pragmatist, so I do not sanction nor understand emotion based arguments, debates or just pain discussions.
You may shoulder and support those in Foxy's camp with similar views and aspirations as she, but they are confined to a minority such as yourselves.
You are doing yourself an injustice by not accepting that the world is full of MANY different folks and beliefs.
Each considered right in their own environment and upbringing.
It is not, therefore within the purview of someone not of the same mindset and beliefs to malign or condemn those who do not conform.
However, if the beliefs are unfounded and subjective rather than factual and objective, those people should give sway to the 'other side'.
Belly, I know there is no changing your and your groups beliefs or mindset, so I don't try.
As your arguments and agenda are emotionally driven and therefore 'subjective', mine are based on reason, pragmatism and totally devoid of emotion, in other words I push an 'objective' agenda.
It is truly sad that you guys find it necessary to attack perfect logic and reason with deflections of accusations of using foul language and hatred tags and so on.
I use whatever language I feel appropriate to the discussion in play at the time.
I care not about anyone's feelings, I'm not a mind reader, so take it or leave it, I am not expecting those unwilling to consider anothers view to even read my posts, let alone be offended by them.
BTW Belly, I must commend you on your narrative, I have to give you credit, your linguistic skills have improved such that I have taken notice.
Well done.

Foxy,

Outlawing hate speech is one thing, legislation that targets free speech because someone is "offended" is a completely different issue.
