I'm the distant relative, along with hundreds of thousands of others.
The family that I mentioned are much closer, their Australian born grandfather was a half-brother to George V, his son (my childhood playmate and then next door neighbour) is a first cousin to George VI, and his children (to one of whom I'm a godfather) are second cousins of the Queen.

To all of them, it's a good family joke.
