.. supporters to take part in “seven days of resistance in the lead up to Invasion Day” —
gulp..that starts today. Pommy criminals and naval troops are not easy to detect and red-coats are for London guards. If you meet resistance walk around it muttering oi oi oi.

Hi Nick,

Maybe they could be called something like, I don't know, 'watermelons' ? What do you reckon ?

The Trots have a long history of doctrinaire adherence to the basic religious principles of Leninism, regardless of changing realities, as if the world today is indistinguishable from the world of 1917. Wow, that's a century ago: a hell of a lot has happened since then, but religion always demands that adherents ignore change.

We now have a combined many hundreds of years of actual socialist society, and it has always, always been found wanting, a fraud from its beginnings and a disaster for the workers and peasants who were supposed to be in control from the outset. Where has that happened, where has there ever been a 'workers' and peasants' state' ? Christ, they couldn't even manage it in Cuba.

No, like so many power grabs throughout history, a small clique, using 'the workers and peasants' this time, have climbed to power for their own interests. What a completely bankrupt ideology.

And that's from someone born into it, who worshipped it, tried to apply it, and after many decades, finally learnt.

Joe

Lee Rhiannon is probably behind this proposed disruption, it's typical of the commo mode of operation.
One also wonders why "Invasion Day" is not considered to be when the Fleet arrived at Botany Bay.
One also wonders why the Greens are so keen to increase the "invasion" by their support of illegal arrivals,i.e. backdoor refugees.

"workers soldiers and peasants" we have a problem with finding enough soldiers for the revolution.
And the colour problem as anarchists and ISIS are black , Aboriginal Bolsheviks are red:yellow:black and United watermelon Party on top.
A split watermelon looks like a happy face and Greens are unhappy souls.

Paul1405,

There's a world of difference between saying

"I think Australia Day is really Invasion Day and I refuse to celebrate it"

and saying

"I think Australia Day is really Invasion Day and I refuse to let others celebrate it

Everybody has the right to protest providing it's
done in a manner without causing
damage to either private property or people.
In other words - there is a way to protest.
And gain sympathy for your cause.

However, I don't see the point of this particular
protest. What do these people hope to achieve?
They will alienate so many by their actions -
especially in burning the flag.
And their message (whatever it may be) will be
lost by that one act alone. Not a very intelligent
move. If the greater majority of people in the Greens
party do not support this action then Mr Di Natale
should make a comment to the media to distance
the party from this planned event.

Unless of course
he is not taking this "splinter group" seriously
and finds them irrelevant or the event as just a
beat up by the Daily Telegraph. A Storm in a Teacup
so to speak.

I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens next.
