Is Mise asks; What happened at the "peaceful" protest?

The answer; Thousands of people protested peacefully.

Still relying on "news" from 'NoNews Ltd', I see.

And some police put the boot into some hippies for burning a flag (definitely not a crime if there isn't a total fire ban. I checked).

Because the police deserve to have their fun on Australia Day too, and what's more fun than beating up a defenceless hippy?

I've never tried it, but I reckon it would be better than sex, drugs, and rock & roll. I like to imagine that heads of hippies make a hollow ringing noise when struck.

Toni,

The offence apparently was lighting a fire so as to endanger others.

Paul,

How many thousands marched?

The law is a funny beast. I never knew that the legal definition of 'others' included 'a cheap chinese knock-off of an Aussie flag'. Ya learn something new every day, I swear.

It could have been a protest about anything and there would be the same activists.

I feel sorry for the police having to waste their time while being constantly harassed and abused by the welfare elite.

Nothing but contempt for selfish demonstrators who endanger small children by leading them into an environment where fires could be lit and crowd trampling and violence are likely.
