Don't be ridiculous Mhaze. If her comments weren't racist, they wouldn't have created such controversy amongst intelligent people.
Just today there is a report on the ABC website about the Chinese community campaigning against Hansen's racist ideas.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-07-08/chinese-community-launch-campaign-against-pauline-hanson/7581952

You mightn't think that a negative comment about Asians 'swamping' Australia is a racist slur against Asians, but intelligent people understand how they must feel.
Perhaps if we changed the words to "Australia is in danger of being swamped by the British", you might understand easier?

Suze, 'racist' is a very over used word nowadays, as so many confuse racism with realism.

If I were to say "allowing Muslims in to Australia increases our risk of terrorism", I would be right, however I would also no doubt be called racist.

I truly believe that both the brexit vote and the Pauline vote have come about through governments ignoring too many people for too long and pandering to the likes of Muslims. Even our own Pm threw a party for the Muslim leaders and I will bet had we not been allowed postal or pre polling votes, the outcome would have been different.

I think there is a real movement towards reclaiming Australia and I think this is just the beginning. If Trump gets in it will be a whole new world

Sue,

Tell me, if Hanson wasn't guilty why was she jailed?

Perhaps the Court of Appeal was bribed?

Perhaps the Porcine Aeronautics are really happening!!

I once worked among a Christian political party, and a large part of its members were Iraqi and Syrian Christians who warned us that Islam would rise in Australia, as did the converted Muslims coming to Australia to escape a threat of death for conversion. You would find similar among Rise Up Australia in Victoria.

Banjo, to say "Pauline employed Asian staff" does not prove her not to be racists. A white American from the deep south could have said "I'm not racists, I have 150 Negros sleep at my place every night...down at the olde plantation, that is."
Hanson's statements on race show what kind of person she is, not her employees, and not even her candidates, but what she has said.

Mhaze,

"...dilute the national culture."

What's the national culture of Australia I wonder?

Judging from the likes of threads like this, it's slagging off other cultures, races and religions and extolling the virtues of a simple-minded loud-mouthed ideologue with a penchant for self-promotion disguised as "speaking up for the little people".

Hanson would say anything to get a vote...as does Trump....thick as two planks, brazen and emboldened by the publicity, she'd happily drive any wedge between society, stir up violence...as long as she's the centre of attention.

Just like Trump, she'd quite happily be the catalyst of any amount of chaos as long as she can be the figurehead of the movement.
