Is Mise, how can a person be a Catholic priest if he is not a member of any religious order?

I really picked the wrong subject to chat about didnt I?
As religion was the subject of the day, I looked up a few sites to try and become better informed, so as not to put my foot in it and offend anyone. My hubby, myself and several family members have all been victims of sexual abuse. Many years ago of course. One repeat offender was a brother at a boys school. The other mongrels were various family friends. Pedophilia has been around forever, and it remains an abhorrent crime. Sadly the Catholic church, for one institution has a very high percentage of offenders, going back many years. The expected moral action would be reporting the crime. Sadly again, to save the reputation of the most worshiped, highly regarded Religion, dishonest activities became necessary, followed by no doubt immense guilt.
The high percentage of offenses, is due to an all male habitation. These men, many young, believed they had found their calling in life, and made the monumental life change. The (maybe counseling) that they would have gone through had to have been extensive. Vows, including celibacy, being taken with absolute faith in their moral strength and dedication.
Sadly as is natures intention, the male reproduction system is sooner or later going to interfere despite..anything. Urges vary, Im not a man but I am well aware of the function. The result leading to moral decline then criminal acts, for many over many years.
The only solution I could think of to control the natural urges was the brutal castration. Makes sense, but nooo. Thank you Josephus, married men, perfect! Women in the Vatican for the greater good. Staying away from that one:)

It is only the Religious organisations that transfer offenders away to evade prosecution.
