Houellebecq said;
It's all very irrational. No, it is all very rational, if they can get Alan Jones shut up it will protect the Labour Party from a major source of criticism. After all the Labour party has the ABC branch of the party broadcasting and on the internet for its support. No 579, what you are advocating is simply censorship. Just like the government is advocating a body to supervise newspapers and I presume magazines. Once established the internet blogs and such sources as this site would be the next logical step. It is a pretty slippery slope that you are suggesting we embark upon. It does seem to be that parties such as the labour party would love to have the power over publishing that Joseph Stalin had, but know that they cannot have that, so they try for a watered down version. The last thing we need right now is Stephan Conroy sticking his oar into the current situation. Just think, before you could comment you would have to wear red underpants on your head ! A few corrections...
'If you are critical of a govt, there should be equal time to answer the criticism so people can make an informed outcome.' The Australian government has all the tools it needs to advertise it's policies. Preaching to the converted in daily prayer harms nobody. 'making judgement for the listeners by his own propaganda' So you would prefer someone else make judgement for the listenrs? Q and A per chance? 'Radio should be informative, without bias or blasphemous remarks.' Radio should be entertaining. Should The Chaser be informative without blasphemy? 'The liberal party have endorsed the criticism of the Prime minister of Australia by their own political mouth-piece.' 'as far as I'm concerned, as far as my Coalition colleagues are concerned, what Alan Jones said was wrong, unacceptable, offensive.' T. Abbott (aka Mr Rabbit) Posted by Houellebecq, Monday, 8 October 2012 11:00:55 AM

Dear Belly,
Jones acted in an Australian way. He acted like some Australians act. Unaustralian does not mean bad. Australian does not mean good. Posted by david f, Monday, 8 October 2012 11:45:54 AM

poirot to include the full team of actors seen here in the out of town launch of the show we would need to launch in a sewage treatment works.
Sonofgloins input can not be matched by other than SM. AJ poor sod, hey careful Belly! can say and do as he likes. But those opposed to him? Well we are troglodytes. Or? apart from any thing else we just may be bringing the chickens home to roost. I care not if he remains on radio or if his adds go or stay. But bet on this, Abbott will not be seen by his side, until the election is over. Flower for AJ? Pansy's are in full bloom. Posted by Belly, Monday, 8 October 2012 11:47:35 AM

Fascinating! : )
One side has the "Rockson Handbag Hit Squad" -
..and the other has the "Rocks In Head Hit Squad".
Who says Aussie politics is boring - it would make a superb vaudeville show.
