jayb it is not true!
If it was ten thousand like me would be on your doorstep asking you to come with us to sit in every Isle.
Do not bight at hate messages.
Question, remember not true, IF we had a ban on the Koran being sold, in any bookshop you wish to name.
First it would be wrong and a crime, second it would be challenged and beaten.

Hi C. Steele,

Sorry, I'm confused - are you saying that a Republican blowhard shot this wonderful girl in the head ?

Or that it is just as bad to flap your lips as to actually shoot a young girl in the head ?

But who was it who actually shot this poor fellow-human being, our sister and our daughter, in the head ?

Can you say it ?

"It was the Taliban".

Yes ? No ?

Gosh, I'd like to sit on the fence about this one like Poirot - it's so hard to choose. Should a young girl be allowed to campaign for schoolgirls' rights, or should she be put in her place - kinder, kuche, kirche ? It's so hard to be even-handed, isn't it ? Oh well, time for another Soy Latte.

Joe

Blow it out yer ear, Loudmouth.

It's shame you need to use Poirot as a prop to get your message across.

(I've never actually ordered something called a "Latte" - sorry to disappoint : )

Gud onya piorot, throw a little humour back & no one will gee ya up.

Well done. Now if we can convince csteel to do the same things would be a lot more pleasant round here.

Ya know, not long ago before Political Correctness stuck its ugly beak in & stuffed things up, one could have a gee up & no one looked take offence. Nowadays it seems that nearly everybody is looking for any excuse to claim that they have been offended in some way. That way they can claim the high moral ground. Sad..., so sad.

Dear Yabby,

A very brave 14 yo girl lies fighting for her life so of course there are differences between the two realities.

However in my post I was expressing my despair about older so called religious men seeing fit to deem the taking of the lives of 'rebellious' children acceptable.

Of course there are many other differences, particularly in the parties delivering the sentiment. One was made from a rebel force in the Swat Valley where the the literacy rate is in the single digits and a male dominated tribal society still holds sway. The other was made from a member of the ruling class in a country that would have us believe was a standard bearer for Western enlightenment values, and a freedom loving, democratic, upholder of human rights.

If you think Mr Fuqua (wildly appropriate name) was making those statements just to sell a book then you do not know fundamentalists like I do. The only thing keeping his particular belief system from gaining an ascendency is its current inability to take power either through the ballot box or at the point of a gun as the Taliban did.

I'm not a religious man, but thank God for that.

Csteel: as the Taliban did.

Yes they did & look what they did with that power for the time they were there. Mass hangings, shootings, setting on fire, banning everything that wasn't 7th Century. Killing girls for going to school. wasn't that just wonderful of them.

Maybe we should introduce their system here in Australia. I know there are some people that would just enjoy the peace they bring. I'm sure the feminists would love it to. I can just feel the outpouring of love & kum-by-arh from every quarter.

That was a bit of a gee up. kick it back mate. ;-)
