Combert travels to the UN seeking some form of ruling on the impasse. While strong pressure is exerted by China the Security Council decides to indefinitely postpone discussion on the issue. Combert then visits India to try and get them to mediate.

Australia attempts to commence shipping its own ore, but the first bulk carrier is intercepted by the Chinese navy claiming the ore is stolen and escorted instead ship to Hong Kong. The blockade and sanctions start to bite deep.

China approaches India for help in getting rid of the Labour government but is rebuffed.

Large amounts of money start flowing in to the Liberal Party coffers having been siphoned through local Chinese enterprises. Extensive media campaigns are launched against the Labour party and trying to oust Combert.

Abbott approaches the Governor General John Howard and gets him to agree to dismiss the government. Howard then appoints Abbott as Prime Minister. Five days of mass demonstrations see Howard back down and ask Combert to form government.

Because of the crisis gripping his nation Combert asks to be given "emergency powers for six months to decree any law he felt necessary for obtaining not only financial solvency, but also electoral, judicial, and educational reforms.".

China again appeals to India who have recently elected a right-wing government and this time India comes out in support of China.

Combert moves to limit the Governor General's power and stymie Chinese attempts to influence Australian Generals. He steps up efforts to curtail anti-government groups.

China gives its embassy $100,000,000 to work toward getting rid of Combert. Money is funnelled to anti-Combert forces who kidnap and kill the Federal Police Chief. Abbott is implicated.

Combert expels the Chinese embassy and strips Howard of his powers.

China responds by again appealing to the India government who this time agrees to organise a coup but only after agreeing to divide the iron ore mining rights. A black and grey propaganda campaign is commenced designed to fan the flames of discontent and hasten an economic collapse.

The head of the Indian secret service meets with John Howard's daughter and the former Chinese ambassador to Australia in Switzerland and the plot is discussed.

Howard, as the constitution head of the armed forces orders a small contingent, armed with a decree from him sacking Combert and installing Abbot as Prime Minister, to arrest Combert at Kirribilli. Other members of the armed forces are tipped off and foil the attempt.

Howard flies out of the country that night.

Unrest and rioting, feed with Indian funds, intensifies with supporters of the Monarchy decrying the removal of Howard. Through the ensuing days they gain substantial followings, some from ordinary people tired of the sanctions and violence but much from mobs financed by Indian money.

During the unrest and confusion a General leading a tank division surrounds Combert's Canberra residence and he is arrested.

Howard returns but instead of handing any real power to Abbott he assumes the leadership of Australia. He strengthens the power of ASIO allowing 'enhanced interrogation techniques' financed and taught by Indian and Chinese secret service agencies, hunts down and imprisons those who had supported Combert, and deepens the relationship with India who now want concessions on Uranium mines and to install an airbase. Finally in order to keep a disgruntled Abbott on side he declares Catholicism as the official religion of the country.

Combert is sentenced to three years in prison and Australians spend the next two decades under a brutal dictator.

Thirty years on people wonder why Australian demonstrations still shout 'Death to India'. The most often heard response from Indians is 'They just hate our freedoms and our way of life'.

This is what some call a justifiable response to 'stealing'.

Flaw in the works. You are assuming the Australian Armed Forces are like other countries & can take control of the Country in some sort of Coup. They can't. Like Church & State the Armed Forces of Australia are separate & can never be used to usurp any Australian Government. Not only is in the Constitution it's in the Military Law Manual Book 5, Section 7. If I remember correctly.
