Neither is acceptable behaviour for protest in a democracy, but we have forgotten that there is precedence of course… But in a true Australian way, deserving of the capital 'r' in Riot.

Those returned soldiers in Queensland knew how to do it properly with the Red Flag Riots.

(I'm ignoring the Newcastle Star Hotel riot on the basis it was legitimate because it involved a pub – and a song was written about it.)

Well you Politically Correct, Greenie, Do-Gooders, this is your thanks, and, you are campaigning for more of the same people to be let loose in Australian Society.

I'm waiting for all the do-gooders on this Forum to come in & make excuses for the riots. Crying that it's all the fault of Australians racism.

NO MORE MUSLIMS! & those here that have not got Citizenship, straight back to where they came from.

Right on cue, Jayb : )

This should have been called "The No More Muslims" thread.

Pericles called it accurately.

The funny thing about this situation.
The film that they are protesting over portrays Mohammed as he actually was.
He was a warlord with absolute power over his subjects.
He married a six (some say 9) year old girl.
Held numerous executions.
Anybody that doubted that he was talking to Allah (God) was executed.

Quote: “The only thing that i did not like was the lady spokes person who was on Radio National the next day. She keep saying that "the Muslim community don't support their actions..it is against the teaching of the Koran"...She said this about 20 times”

Oh? It is against the teachings of the Quran, is it? Well, well. Maybe she should actually read the Quran before saying such BS.

There are several hundred verses in the Quran that teach hate and violence toward non-Muslims and about twelve that say somewhat nice things about us. Guess which they quote to us?

Here are just a few of the heavenly treasures that Allah sent down to Mohammed… these include verses that tell Muslims to not be friends with those evil non-Muslims (3:28; 5:51), verses to attack and kill others (2:286; 3:148, 47:35; 9:73; 9:123; 48:29), and verses that say infidels are stupid and evil (3:110-111; 25:44; 8:55; 98:6; 2:171) and so on…

Maybe these are harmless sayings, with no consequence, or maybe they explain the almost universal hate, discrimination and violence against non-Muslims in Islamic societies – and the antagonism against non-Muslims in host countries where Muslims have migrated to flee from the problems they have created in their own societies.

Then they come to the West and they bring their vile prophet in their hearts. What could go wrong?

Does anybody think that these people are going to get kicked out of the mosque? Next Friday they will be praying in the front row, their rear-ends higher than the rest, farting on our values and traditions.

Another post from 2005, after the London bombings. Irfan, a Muslim writer here at OLO, said I was a “hater”. My response:

Irfan… You think I hate you? If you want to find hate, look at Muslim web sites or Imams throughout the Islamic world. Try to understand that if a person does not agree with Islam and argues against it as a belief, it is not hate. This is called “freedom of speech” because of “differences of opinion”.

What I feel towards Muslims can best be described as “despair”. As for Islam, the proper word would be “contempt”. I dislike it as a belief; but even that is not the problem. The issue is not bad theology but that Islam is dangerous to the health of progressive societies. Have you ever asked yourself what is wrong with Islam? Why do Muslims have so many problems other groups or religions don’t seem to have? Google “Muslims” “Europe” and “crime” or “rape” or substitute any other country. Have you ever seen a Buddhist having to say “Buddhism is a religion of peace”? Why is crime among Hindu immigrants a small fraction of that among Muslims in England? Do you ever wonder why so many Muslims want out of Islamic countries? Remember those poor 400 souls that drowned off Australia several years ago… They were from every Islamic country on the map. Tell me, Irfan, do you have a clue?

As Muslims move to the West they use our freedoms to subvert our institutions. I quote Tony Parkinson (The Age):

“The compact under multiculturalism is that each community within a society must have the freedom to sustain its own identity, traditions and culture. But there is a quid pro quo and that involves universal acceptance of a broad system of shared values…. Multiculturalism is at a moment of truth. The drift from melting-pot altruism into salad-bowl separatism has morphed into something more sinister: the existence within Western cultures of a hostile religious sect that renounces absolutely the principles on which our societies are structured.”
