And the other point you miss 579 is, that for every ONE we give Malaysia we will get back FOUR. And, eventually, that ONE we sent to Malaysia will in all likelihood come back to OZ too –and highly likely (the second time) on a Oz govt chartered 747.

While we both want the boats stopped, and yes both think our social services are a light to moths.
I think you failed to understand my view on Malaysia.
It remains my view after paying up to five or even ten thousand dollars, then being put on a boat and sent back to their starting point they will stop coming.
I know not all will agree, many will dislike me for it, but getting on a boat to come here.
In its self, should bar forever them getting to this country even as a visitor.

Your forward thinking is hypothetical. 4: 1 was for 800 only. The chances are the 800 would not be supplied in the first place.
Why spend the money for a boat ride to nowhere.
The whole idea is for these people to stand in line to be processed before being invited to AU.
So to save somebody money they might as well go to Malaysia in the first place, because that is where they are going to end up.

Wrong because when they get sent back they will be supported by the Australian taxpayer until they get to come here, that is why they will not stop coming.

579 yes you seem to have a handle on the issue.
Clearly we send 800 get 4.000.
But ignore those who do not understand.
Those who do not know.
And those who will not admit it will work.
In negotiating ANY RESOLUTION with another country know both sides want an out come they can see benefit in.
Hence IF this gets a run Malaysia, understands the maths.
But of far more importance knows too, far less will, in time end up in its country.
If both country's act hard, it is possible to at worst, reduce the flow to a trickle.
