I do not agree. But I do think the illegals now think we are so weak that it will take stronger measures to stop them coming.

What we will need is simply not to give them what they want and they will stop coming.

Now you are confusing two different problems.

One is the illegal boat arrivals and the other is having a discriminatory immigration policy.

Ok I know we can stop the boats from coming if we are decisive enough and stop our softly, softly approach.

Implementing a immigration policy that is discriminatory may be far more difficult. Firstly it has to be on culture and not on race or nationality.

Luwig and I have advocated a reduction in immigration for years. If it were up to me, I would identify those groups that have shown they will not/cannot integrate into our society or hold us in contempt. Then I would stop further immigration of those groups.

Lets face it, if they do not want to be part of us, then they would be happier somewher else anyway. We may not be the perfect place for all peoples, even if we think so.

But I warn, be prepared for strong opersition from both the Greens and the business sector, and dont forget business pays hansomely to both major parties, to keep high immigration.
