Spiondoc, mine is going straight onto the mantle, right next to the other ones.

I'm donating mine to the local Catholic priest - to help him with mass.

I'm taking mine to the Planetarium -

I've had a change of heart.
I'm going to give mine to the PM instead. No use asking her "What's the matter?" She looks like she's got the weight of the world on her shoulders. Posted by Lexi, Sunday, 8 July 2012 7:16:57 PM

Do you realise that Higgsteria abounds?

Is it worth being patient while things decay for a bit?
So far it's only the low mass Higgs bosons – and the standard model ones at that. I want to wait for the higher mass and at least the deluxe model versions before bothering. Posted by WmTrevor, Sunday, 8 July 2012 7:56:07 PM

This obsession is yet another form of materialism.

I don't like bosons, I think that they are all Wimps.

Very funny all, a laugh is a much better way to start the week; we seem to have been getting a little intense lately, some very talented humorists on this blog.
If is walks like a quark, looks like a quark and quarks like a quark, I guess it’s a quark. So why are we discriminating against leptons? Is it because we don’t like their “behavior”? What about a correlation between people and the periodic table of fundamental particles, charge vs. mass? Clive Palmer would be up there with high mass, but Craig Thomson might have more charges. SM, watch out the boson doesn’t blow the whistle on us. Lexi, perhaps you could send our PM some Higgs boson balm, might reduce the “weight" on her shoulders? Have great week. Baz. I think we should reduce the weight on this PMs shoulders, but only as long as we do it in the same way the French reduced the weight on a few royal shoulders, some years back.

Save a thought for the boson's mate.

I'm going to sell mine and use the money to pressure the WWF to put the Higgs Boson on the endangered species list, due to its short life span.
Higgs bosons should not be kept in captiviy. Anthony http://www.observationpoint.com.au Posted by Anthonyve, Monday, 9 July 2012 10:06:46 AM

I dunno about you blokes.
I have always liked bosoms They seem to be comforting Nice to rest ones head on if stressed Have yet to see Higgs bosom, but it will be OK Posted by Banjo, Monday, 9 July 2012 12:20:00 PM

Is that yours Poirot? I'll pay that one. mass. What are you like!

Without my thoughts, the fermion can quite look after itself :) Posted by bonmot, Monday, 9 July 2012 11:29:40 PM

Dear Lexi,
Many today think that mass is bad (perhaps because others don't like their body-shape; because their old cloths no longer fit; because they're not allowed to have sweets; or because they dislike Christianity), but since you consider mass to be good, I must assume that you are slim or Christian (or both). (since bosons are not a service, GST can only apply if they are good) Posted by Yuyutsu, Monday, 9 July 2012 11:46:19 PM

hig's bosom..is only one of 4 possable bosons
but the precept arround its wrong think of centrifical force think of an armiture moving within a coil now see what it became[that unicycle;/scooter looking thing..[you stand up on to drive..cant recall its name presently] but take the principle it is adding weight to offeset your weight..and retain its own center of balance[just as the fall into the atom]think centifical forces]..fields of affect.. what would i do to mine thats like asking what will i do with my electro magnet without the ability to sustain..the huge energy burn..that created escape velocity about the same measure as cold fusion [and evolution..out of genus]..nice in theory but you wouldnt invite ....it..into a happy home Posted by one under god, Tuesday, 10 July 2012 8:36:13 AM

Dear Yuyutsu,

Mine's gone already. I think. And I never knew it was even there.
Since (I'm presuming here) God has no weight (except on the mind of OUG), or mass (except in Catholic-oriented churches), is it possible that He/She has no Higgs bosons in His/Her atomic structure at all ? And never did, even at the BBeginning ? And where do they all go ? Is there no 'where' there ? Posted by Loudmouth, Tuesday, 10 July 2012 5:08:31 PM

'No where' Loudmouth?
'Now here' (on OLO) perhaps :) Posted by bonmot, Tuesday, 10 July 2012 6:24:41 PM

Does the Higgs give off carbon?

You're referring to the GST of course!
Lexi, The GST pulled Australia out of the $hit, the Carbon Tax is getting us back into it again. Posted by individual, Sunday, 15 July 2012 9:55:21 AM

<<The GST pulled Australia out of the $hit>>
Is that so? The GST added so much compliance costs and complexity that people simply avoid carrying a business or grow theirs above $75000 p.a. Posted by Yuyutsu, Sunday, 15 July 2012 11:48:33 AM

A Higgs boson goes into a bar

Is that so?

Dear Individual,
Speak to any small business owners about the GST and get their reactions. Not only did they have to spend more time on paperwork, which took away from their business time but the 10% cost increases made a lot of clients more wary on the amount they spent - which meant less income to the small business. Everybody loses except the government. Posted by Lexi, Sunday, 15 July 2012 6:35:42 PM

Hi Lexi and Individual,
Do you think that, since the Good News, the government hasn't pulled together a scoping group to set up a Working Party to plan a sub-committee to institute an exploratory panel to set up a sub-department, perhaps in Science and Technology, maybe in association with the CSIRO, to monitor the activities of Higgs bosons - - and perhaps another scoping group + Working Party + sub-committee etc. and bipartisan (i.e. Greens + Labour) Parliamentary Committee to explore the possibilities of taxing the Higgs boson - nothing huge maybe only 1.35 % on all annual molecular activity, adding maybe only $ 19.95 to the average family annual budget each week, but providing employment for another 883 public servants ? Most of whom would vote Green ? Out of sheer gratitude ? Except for the additional staff in ASIO, monitoring the potentially illegal activities of the particle and ensuring it is kept out of the hands of terrorists ? And that somehow, the government will stuff all of that up as well ? Posted by Loudmouth, Sunday, 15 July 2012 11:09:11 PM

I’m using some of mine to convert my car to eliminate fossil fuel and to make it levitate. The Proton/Higgs power cell should cover my fuel for about 100,000 years and the phase transition graviton unit can transport me all over the world without wings.
The Series II Higgs power generator in the back yard seems to be producing enough electricity for the immediate neighborhood of the Pacific Rim countries.
So what do fellow OLOers plan to do with their Higgs bosons
