Do you think that Ted Gunderson right and has this culture permeated our intelligence agencies?

Arjay the great unwashed of the first world do not know who their most cunning and insidious enemy is, but most of the third world does, it’s their government. I have always considered the Americans naïve when it came to their knowledge of the true powerbrokers and string pullers that direct their nation. But a constant spin campaign from Hollywood and the media sold in a white hat/ black hat social psychology to the American plebs, and to the plebs “their America” certainly wore the white hat internationally and on every front.

Re Gunderson, all he said is true, but he knew the American government and it’s agencies were in the hands of the few families from Europe thirty years ago and still he made his livelihood from the ones he denounces now, old age and conscience changes the leopards spots.

I could go back to the OSS and the way they viewed morality and humanity post WWII as displayed by the way they took the inteligencia of the NAZI regime into their inner circles while quite rightly vilified the rest of whom they had no use for, selective morality. The CIA was legislated in 1947 and hooked straight into the Eastern bloc, but they found time to meddle in the domestic affairs of non combatant nations such as in South America where The American Fruit Company did a load more than continue the rape and pillage of poorer nations.

The conspiracy debunkers have lined up a load of demolition specialists to testify that PULL IT” is not an industry term, well Larry Silverman is not an industry guy, and when he said pull it, it came down. How , once you decide to demolish a 52 storey concrete building do you do it within an hour, you don’t. Why Silverstein opened his mouth at all is a mystery to me, too much Viagra that morning, feeling ballsy, just started a new commercial reality project with the first three demolitions underway.

Anyway this man of some consequence did blab but to me that perhaps shows he knew of only a portion of the conspiracy, for if he knew it all he would have shut up, but he knew it was going to happen, they all did except the 3000 plus murdered by their own government.

The CIA-Mafia link has been discussed and written about for some years including a book by Charles Ashman titled 'The CIA-Mafia Link' my copy was published in 1975. There is much to link the Mafia with the CIA including access to a wide network of operatives, drugs, gambling and links to Cuba, Bay of Pigs, and various assasinations and covert acts worldwide. These links are now well accepted albeit not much discussed.

In the book there is a quote:

I don't buy into many of the conspiracy theories. My problem with some of them - 9/11 included - is the tendency for conspiracy theorists (and those who make money from them) is to see 'evidence' or data presented and interpret that X, Y and Z must mean A, B or C but ignore the possibility that X,Y and Z might also mean D,E or F or maybe L,M,N, and P.

Some of it can be self-fulfilling to match ideological or other expectations.

Even Jesse Ventura who writes books about conspiracies occasionally offers other possibilities. Much of his information is very credible, but not all of it. The assassination of the Kennedys is almost certainly IMO to have been orchestrated by others not yet known (only suspected).

However that said, there is no doubt, and history reveals it, that there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than us mere mortals will ever know; or are revealed well after events and where it becomes blurry about who is accountable. Who was held accountable for outing Valerie Plame? Nobody, even the patsy that was organised managed to get a presidential pardon.

We can be certain that the facts around Iraq may never come out until well after anyone in that Administration is still around to offer explanations.

I have seen it myself in much less significant ways - the spin doctors (public servants/politicians/lobbyists) dressing up policies and programs to be nothing like the reality that is projected. Sometimes little lies grow and self-perpetuate, empires are sometimes built on lies.
