I wonder how Tony Abbott would have got out of his promises given the dodgy economic costings debacle - perhaps more core and non-core promises. Abbott would have inherited the same minority government and lets be honest it does change the landscape somewhat.

However (don't faint SM) I happen to agree that this dismissal of promises was made too easily and a minority government does not stop the government at least attempting to put new policy and legislation in consultation with all parties. That is what consensus government is all about. It does not have to mean abandoning certain pre-election proposals.

One would expect that the policies her ladyship, little Julie took to the election would be the ones she, & Labor believed were the best for the country.

The fact that she & Labor are so quick to dump many of them tends to give the lie to that. Surely if they are the best policies, [in their eyes], they would continue to try to enact them.

One can only assume that Labor policies will change depending on whom they are designed to buy. That clearly is no longer the electorate.
