I consider Aboriginal society to be different from that of European, and there cannot be a direct comparison made.
Paul1405,
All the demands & claims of equality for indigenous in Australia are calls to obtain the same goods & services without the effort that non-indigenous put in !

I’m old enough to remember some haunting words from Desiderata:

Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

It appears that there are a lot of scared, vain and bitter old white people (and quite a few not so old) so scared of anyone not a clone of themselves, who have this insane need to feel ‘superior’. What a waste of energy.

Say an interstellar craft arrived here. We might be as intelligent and have skill sets as broad as the alien beings, but would people think that the reason we didn't possess similar technology was a matter of choice?

"who have this insane need to feel ‘superior’. "

Let's recap. This all started because it was pointed out by Hanson that it is folly and not in the interests of children to teach them about a 'culture' that has nothing to offer them. Since then the efforts have been to try to shout her down. But those doing the shouting are crying "racist" and "divisive". But they aren't saying she's wrong.

Pointing out that they were primitive in the face of those who just wish it wasn't so, isn't an attempt to make themselves feel superior. Its simply adhering to a reverence for the truth which is very much under threat these days among those who pursue the vainglorious warm inner-glow of pandering to the aboriginal cultists.

Since we are now quoting from long past philosophers let me introduce Samuel Johnson (or perhaps James Boswell)....
"
Accustom your children constantly to this; if a thing happened at one window, and they, when relating it, say that it happened at another, do not let it pass, but instantly check them; you do not know where deviation from truth will end.”

Aries54,
You're not well read are you otherwise you wouldn't put us all in with the British of yesteryear !
Imagine if us non-British Whites lumped the Aborigines in with the warring tribes of Africa & the Middle East & headhunters of Papua etc ? Although we all now speak English it might be beneficial if some posters here would take the time to learn more words apart from Racism, White Supremacy & Discrimination !
How about accepting that experiences count for more than ideological hearsay & invented history !

I sure hit a nerve with you didn’t I indy? Now all you need to do is summon the courage to understand why you have this insane need to feel superior at all times and do something about it. While you’re at it, you might also do something about improving your comprehension skills. Nowhere did I “… put you all in with the British of yesteryear…” I am talking about a significant number of people living in Australia right now. Stop projecting.

Another thing to remember indy is that your side of politics has its cache of boring, overused and ultimately inaccurate cliches that it trots out at every occasion too – Marxist agenda, woke, fake news, antisemitic. The list goes on.
