Hi Trumpster,

In typical gobblistic fashion you use the emotive nonsense "rampant immigration", trying to project an image of uncontrolled millions of unwanted foreigners flooding Australia, that is simply not true. Australia has a very tightly controlled immigration program, but that doesn't suit your worldview, so you have to use the emotive term "rampant".

A fact, post war immigration to Australia; The modern immigration program began in earnest in 1950 under the government of your folk hero the Nazi sympathiser 'Pig Iron' Bob Menzies, although in true racists fashion Bob made sure it was a "Whites Only Policy" although "sun tanned" Southern Europeans were acceptable. In 1950 Australians population was about 8 million, in 36 years, 1986 it had doubled to 16 million, due mostly to immigration, it had grown at an annual average rate of 2%. The population in 2026 is 28 million, it was 14 million in 1976, doubling in 50 years, giving a an annual average growth rate of about 1.3%. To put that in context if Australia's average annual population growth rate had remained at 2%, 'Pig Iron' Bob's preferred amount, today's population would be 36 million.

Trumpster, you are so good at propaganda, why don't you make a short film portraying migrants as rats wearing burqa's, maybe Pauline can lend YOU hers. Yes, a rat portrayal of migrants, something similar worked well for Old Joe back in your good old days

"uncontrolled millions of unwanted foreigners flooding Australia, that is simply not true."

Oh so the things I DIDN'T say aren't true. Good to know.

Even the government you bend over forwards to defend, have said in the past that immigration was out of control and that they needed to bring in reforms to get it under control. "Albanese has acknowledged high levels but attributes the surge to inherited temporary factors (e.g., backlog clearance, international students/workers returning) and claims the government is regaining control through policy changes."

Let me help you with the logic thingie that you struggle with.... if you need to "regain control" that means it was out of control. Yes I know that's above your level of understanding, so you'll just have to trust me.

The fact is that both major parties were fine with letting immigration run wild until people like Hanson started pushing back and gaining support.....'The Hanson Effect'.

Hi Trumpster,

When, and please quote, did anyone in the Labor government say that during their current term in office that ; "immigration was out of control and that they needed to bring in reforms to get it under control" I agree the government did inherit temporary factors associated with covid caused a surge in immigration in the 2 years following covid, people who had been waiting to migrate, and others returning, and those factors were being addressed. The recent 45% decline in immigration numbers testifies to that fact.

You say; "letting immigration run wild" Australia has always had a controlled immigration policy. What you fail to mention is in 2020/21 there was net loss of 85,000 people from Australia.

Quotes from Albo....

“The truth is that the migration system that we inherited was broken. There were over a million people waiting for visas in this country...”

“A migration system that he [previous government] presided over that was broken is something that we've been busy repairing. ... We are fixing a problem that we inherited.”

“Our migration system is broken and we have a plan to fix it.”

Its funny that Paul feels the need to leap to the defence of the ALP. He always does it and then claims to not be a partisan for them. The immigration system was and still is broken. But both major parties are now SAYING they want to fix it and that's due to 'The Hanson Effect'.

Hi Trumpster,

Addressing your misconception;

"leap to the defence of the ALP. He always does it and then claims to not be a partisan for them."

On this forum I have been critical of the ALP on the military nonsense concerning AUKUS/ANZUS, nuk subs and all that rubbish. Their support of US/Israel in the war with Palestine/Iran. Critical of the ALP's failure to properly overhaul the tax system, particularly where it pertains to the Big End Of Town. Generally as a progressive socialist, I often prefer Labors agenda than that of the Coalition, as the Coalition are more the Noalition, and have FA policy on everything.

You claim the government said migration was "out of control", now you claim they said "broken" there is a difference between "out of control" and "broken" Take the Goggomobil YOU drive, ripping down Bulli Pass and pumping the breaks with no response is "out of control" Driving your Goggomobil into the front yard of your shack, and hearing a squeal coming from the breaks, but they are still working, indicates something might be "broken", and tomorrow YOU can take it to the Goofy the mechanic and he can fix it for YOU. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE? Me thinks not, but we try!

Immigration to Australia is only out of control in relation to incompatible migrants with incompatible cultural heritage.
It does look to the outside observer that there's a glitch in the filtering of migrants & this could be due to officers simply not doing their job or being actually bought off or even threatened.
One aspect of immigration is certain , too many incompatible migrants are already established here. One just has to watch the News reports on so many violent demonstrations. Also, the sickening nastiness of Left Wing parasites towards more restrained conservative elements is nothing short of evil !
I can't help the feeling that a social time bomb is already ticking simply because decent folk have reached frustration saturation point & even the Law has turned against them.
Can Labor solve the problems they helped create ? Judging by the mentality on display among their supporters, it looks highly unlikely !
