For most people, the peak in the quality of life was somewhere in between - earlier, life was stiflingly constrained and later life became meaningless and impersonal, so I will take the best and settle on 1975 if I may.

They were the days when people believed that All You Need Is Love.
Before, people believed only in upright churchy love or love for the Motherland, now people no longer believe in love at all. It is heart-wrenching to see them lost youths depressed with hollow looks, having only screens for company.

Not sure about 1975, considering 50% of Australians were born after 1987. "They were the days when people believed that All You Need Is Love" that was more like 1968. Oh yes, the days of free love, and young Australians dying in an unjust barbaric war in Vietnam. We tend to look at the past through rose coloured glasses, seeing the best times, and forgetting about the worse times. I am a progressive person and accept change where it is warranted for the good, and reject it where its of no value. The old bloke claiming to be a "conservative" on here, simply lives in an unreal world of the past, and can't accept any kind of change.

The Albanese government was correct in its move to expel the Iranians, when the evidence was presented they took the appropriate action. In fact the Noalition when in office had the opportunity to do likewise, but failed to act at the time.
