Dear Foxy,
One doesn't need a "right" in order to defend themselves - that is just natural behaviour! «Colonized people even under the Un Charter have the right to struggle for their liberation» For sure, and that applies to Ukraine, Hawaii and the West Bank, but why Gaza? Gaza was not colonised since 2005 - the only Israelis in Gaza during those years were Gilad Shalit and Avera Mengistu, one kidnapped the other mentally-challenged. How do you call someone who struggles to open a door that is already open? "blind" is one possibility, what are the others? «And the successful ending to such a struggle lies in the creation of a democratic state that includes all of its inhabitants.» Rejoice, Rejoice all dogzand cats, mice too! I wish to make it clear that:
I support the existence of the state of Israel. I support Palestinian liberation. I do not support Hamas. I do not support Israeli government policies. Condemnation of Israel does not reflect a lack of concern for the welfare of Jews in Israel and around the world. But we need to take efforts and positions that will lead to greater safety for everyone. Instead of just supporting one side or the other. Whatever the solutions we need to recognize that the safety and security of Jews and Palestinians are inter-dependent. Being only pro-Palestinian or pro-Israel and their implicit mutual exclusion reproduces and perpetuates the nationalist antagonisms that fuel the forever war between Jews and Palestinians. In stopping to use those terms and trying not to take sides won't magically produce a solution but it could help to create the atmosphere necessary to imagine a peaceful future for both the Middle East and the diaspora. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this discussion. However I feel that there is nothing to be gained by further conversation. Ani Oleh. (I'm out). * Warning:
This footage appears to 'allegedly' show some 'very angry people' waving around 'what appears to be' the shredded remains of a small child including severed body parts. http://x.com/angeloinchina/status/1844353060371652903 >>While you were having a coffee and enjoying your day, more massacres were committed by Israel, probably in your name, for the "freedom of the West", with YOUR tax money, with YOUR government supplied weapons, killing children that could be YOURS. Humanity and our dignity is dying every day in GAZA. The WEST is collectively accomplice to one of the worst crime against humanity, a genocide that is happening in front of our own eyes with a deafening silence. Yes, YOU can vomit. Silence is also guilt. For the silent ones > "Can you still look at yourself in the mirror knowing that you might be part of the problem ?" Karma is bxtch, it will haunt us for many generations<< Posted by Armchair Critic, Friday, 11 October 2024 5:46:56 PM

Dear Yuyutsu, . The Jewish Agency for Israel is the source of the country populations I indicated in my penultimate post. If you wish to ask them their definition of a “Jew”, they have an office in Australia. You may contact them here : http://www.jewishagency.org/contact-us/ . I support the compliance to international laws.
Even in wars there are rules. As for Israel having
the right to defend itself?
Colonized people even under the Un Charter have the
right to struggle for their liberation, even with an army.
And the successful ending to such a struggle lies in the
creation of a democratic state that includes all of its
inhabitants.
A discussion of the future , liberated from the myths and
misinformation about Israel will hopefully pave a path
towards peace for both Israel and Palestine.
