"what is your BEEF. "

Paul puts his hands over both eyes and declares he can't see any broken promises.

Franklin D. Roosevelt promised Americans he would keep them out of WWII. What did he do, declared war on Japan, a broken promise! A bloke like ttbn, rabid anti Labor as he is, can't understand the concept of CIRCUMSTANCES CHANGE OVER TIME!

p/s Roosevelt was arguably the best President US ever had. But that doesn't mean much when you look at the "talent" that's had the job, Trump, Biden, right back to George Washington.

While I certainly respect and support the act of tweaking the Stage 3 tax cuts because the whole setup was designed to dramatically ease the tax burden on the high end earners in this country, I do not respect promises made by Labor being broken. They should not have been made in the first place.

Dear Paul,

Indeed, CIRCUMSTANCES CHANGE OVER TIME, and therefore the Bible tells us:

"But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black"
[Matthew 5:34-36]

"Do not be quick with your mouth,
do not be hasty in your heart
to utter anything before God.
God is in heaven
and you are on earth,
so let your words be few."
[Ecclesiastes 5:2]

"If you make a vow to the Lord your God, do not be slow to pay it, for the Lord your God will certainly demand it of you and you will be guilty of sin. But if you refrain from making a vow, you will not be guilty. Whatever your lips utter you must be sure to do, because you made your vow freely to the Lord your God with your own mouth"
[Deutoronomy 23:21-23]

"Franklin D. Roosevelt promised Americans he would keep them out of WWII. "

Yep Albo breaking a promise he never intended to keep, is totally the same as Japan bombing Pearl Harbour. Sheesh!

The only circumstances that have changed here is that the ALP is suddenly terrified that the swing voters are hurting due to inflation (which is much higher than the headline figure) and that they are now starting to blame the government for it. This isn't about noble principles, its about crass politics. Its also about putting the needs of the government ahead of the needs of the nation.

mhaze, circumstance change. Albo is keeping his promised stage 3 tax cuts. Good of the nation, yep more in the pockets of the wealthiest 5% in tough economic times. But then again YOU are crowing that YOU predicted interest rates would RISE when they were at an all time low of 0.1%. What an amazing prediction, how do YOU do it?
