Dear mhaze,

Did you really just quote JFK Jr? Strewth you are scraping the bottom of the barrel.

You are also going full blown on the anti-intellectual trope of the hard right. Distrust of any expert whose learned opinion doesn't align with your ideology. Really getting pretty tiresome now.

Josephus,

Marxist this and marxist that. Why are you borrowing hard right memes from the US and shoehorning them into issues we are contending with here? Get off facebook mate, it is doing your head in. You have ended up parroting garbage and you are just a caricature now, background noise.

shadowminister,

So an advisory body has become a veto power now has it? You really are a flog. Are you so afraid of this simple thing getting up you are prepared to tell whatever lie, employ whatever exaggeration, and stoke whatever fear you can just to stop an advisory body which will have zero impact on your life but hopefully will positively impact the lives of indigenous people in this country?

What a completely un-Christain thing to be engaged in.

Dear Bezza,

Just wondering what age you are because your 60s thinking is on display in spades. This country has moved past that thinking a long time ago. Why are you still stuck in that mindset?

Dear Paul,

In my absence I had forgotten how futile arguing with some
of the posters on this forum truly is. Thankfully, I like
to think that they are a minority and will not really matter
in the long term. At least that's what I am hoping. Australian
voters usually get it right in the end. We can only hope that
this will happen again this time.

Personally - what these old men here think really does not matter
in this country. They are not the future. They dwell in the
past, and like other relics will eventually be swept on the ash
heap of history. Their days are numbered. Few will miss them.
The country will survive despite their whingimg and wanting to
resurrect the "good old days," long gone.

Most people have moved on from the past and look towards having a
better future for all. The fact that these guys aren't willing
to do that - makes little difference to the general scheme of things.
Australians will unite and survive without them.

Enjoy NAIDOC Week. That's something worth celebrating.

NO, NO, and NO again
Some will get very rich, look at who is pushing for yes.
Some will get on the gravy train and do well out of yes.
Some poor old blackfella currently sitting under gum trees will still be sitting under gum trees in years to come.
Having seen the way the aboriginal industry works and acts over the last 50+ years and the money trail of who benefits there will be no change and it will keep costing the country millions, probably more millions than current. The waste over the years has to be seen and the latte sippers of the major cities and some yes pushers have no idea of the real world outside of their back yard. A good audit of all of the 3000? aboriginal organisations could be a great way to spend the $300 million voice cost but the major yes team would be well against that.

Dear gj123,

What an exceedingly clueless take.

The big money in this is already in plain sight. Mining money stoking the No campaign in their millions with Gina at the head of the list.

While the Voice will have absolutely no role in dispersing funds so your arguments on that score are completely false.

Look, you really do need to understand how your prejudices are being prompted by out billionaire class. You are being lead into thinking this will impact you and might take something out of your pocket. Meanwhile that very billionaire class, which is contributing one of the lowest rates per tonne of minerals to the rest of the country in comparison to other developed countries, has you out making their case for them.

Grow a brain.

Steele who spreads the already $4,500,000,000 billion p/a that the NIAA receives, equivalent to $46,000 per person p/a who identifies as aboriginal. That funding is allocated to aboriginals only not to other disadvantaged Australians.

Looking at programs of NAIDOC week it could not function without the advantages of Current western industrial developments introduced to aboriginals. Using instruments found on any stage, using food from the supermarkets not in previous aboriginal diets like flour, eggs and salt and sugar.
Bring aboriginals into our society and help them experience the equality they are given, rather than promote a backward racist section in Government. They have shared with us for over 200 years.
