Hi Steele,

You don't need to ask the question that's a forgone conclusion, absolutely, expect no pretence of impartiality from me. One who Labor hates with a passion is a turncoat, a "Labor Rat" as they call them. I'm a bit harsh on Wazza, referring to him as Uncle Tom. If he had got that Labor endorsement all those years back I suspect he would be singing the praises of the Voice today. That's politics.

Albo could only afford 4 hours in The Alice with their multitude of problems, but spent 3 nights at the tennis, pissing up with the likes of Peter Costello. Got to wonder where their priorities lie sometimes

The fundamental question is, how could we best deal with criminally inclined people ?
Police can't handle the situation yet when the Army is suggested, the do-gooders object !
What do you morons want ? Do you want a harmonious society or do you want to continue the way we have been going ?
If you are not prepared to make effective decisions shut up & sit in a corner ! Constantly criticising & effectively preventing solutions is highly obviously not the solution. Let's try the Army patrolling the streets for a year & see how the criminal elements fare !
I have suggested this years & years ago that if the Army is used in times when the situation is such as in the Alice now, Army or Army Reserves could temporarily become Police Deputies help with Law & Order. No extra costs to anyone whatsoever, not even any damage costs because their won't be any damage !

A worry Foxy

The Centre-Left Guardian reports 3 Feb 2023:

"Anthony Albanese has revealed he will proceed with the referendum to enshrine an Indigenous voice to parliament even if he suspects the proposal will fail because of a lack of political consensus.

Given history shows referendums fail when they lack bipartisan support, the prime minister acknowledged that advancing, come what may, was a “risk … particularly where, at the moment, it is only the Labor party saying that they are committed to a yes vote”."

The Guardian 'centre left'? Far Left more like.

I'm not sure that Albanese actually said that; other people have said that he did.

However, the government could legislate for a Voice at any time, particularly now, with no real opposition and the help of the Greens and a couple of 'independents'. The just can't "enshrine" in the Constitution.

I think the Ocker would look an even bigger dick if he landed us with the cost and inconvenience of a referendum, then ignored the result.
