Hi Maverick,

This song still manages to bring tears to my eyes.
Beautiful. It should be our anthem!

"Australia banned slavery at the point of the country's conception on the 26th. January, 1778."

Nothing in the history books about Phillip declaring the country of Australia, 26th January 1788. Pray tell ttbn, how many times in his speech on that day did Phillip mention the country of "Australia", try none. BTW the convict population were not in attendance on that day. Who needs slaves when you have convicts for free labour. What a joke!

"Australia is a world-leader on Indigenous rights" without any form of treaty or agreement. Where did you get that one from?

"Migrants bust a gut to come here" so you say. Maybe Indy did, for free handouts, but he's the exception.

"Australians have fought in every major war since the Boer War, for a better world" Vietnam was not fought for a better world, it was a proxy was of the United States, Australia's bloodiest war, where over 60,000 were killed, WWI was an imperial war which created an even worse world than existed, leading directly to WWII.

Paul,

Admit it, the natives were rescued by the British. Their standard of living is vastly improved thanks to the civilizing influence and benevolence of the settlers.

Yeah - that's why their population is so huge today.
Their culture, spirituality, and creativity is
fully recognized. They don't have any health problems,
mental issues, or problems with alcohol abuse, et cetera.
Their kids are not in jails, or out on the streets but are
gainfully employed. What more could they possibly want?

VOICE ALL ABOUT PREFERENCING ONE SELF-DEFINING RACE

Hi Foxy

As you know the Voice is an effort to give 2 votes
(1. for members of Federal Parliament AND
an new additional vote for Voice Representatives)
to each member of the race loosely defining itself "Aboriginal".
The vast majority of Australians, being non-Aboriginal,
will still only have the one vote (for members of Parliament).

About twice as many people, since 1980, are defining themselves as Aboriginal for whatever coming-out, solidarity, professional and monetary reasons. Meanwhile and, on Average, any black blood is steadily being diluted in the white direction - especially in Sydney and Lidia's Melbourne.

You'll notice Lidia (A) and many other radical ABBA-Riginals (B) like her, are increasingly opposed to the mainstream "Uncle Tom"(C) northern authentic Aborigines, who do support the Voice. This is partly because Lidia and others are radicals first and mainstream "Aboriginals" second - even if they argue otherwise.

(A) Checkout Lidia's Caucasion photo (7/8ths White, 1/8th Aboriginal by blood). http://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2023/jan/30/lidia-thorpe-welcomes-sovereignty-assurances-over-voice-but-remains-undecided . Here Aboriginality, by choice, is one aspect of her radicalism.

(B) White, like an ABBA lookalike band http://www.jkentertainmentagency.co.uk/acts/abba-riginal

(C) "Uncle Tom" being alleged black sellouts http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uncle_Tom kowtowing to what Lidia sees as the white Canberra Parliament that, she believes, seeks to reduce Aboringinal sovereignty.

Unlike the 1967 Referendum
there is no widespread GOODWILL
necessary to pass the coming
Voice Referendum.

Already many-most Coalition Politicians
many non-Aboriginal Australians
and "Aboriginal" radicals
oppose the Voice
for various reasons.

Cheers Mavs

BTW Foxy

Aboriginal "Warren Mundine,
a leading organiser of the no campaign,

said on Sunday the campaign would propose
symbolic constitutional recognition of
Indigenous people and migrants through
a new preamble, via another referendum.
This approach was previously rejected
by multiple rounds of consultation
including the 2017 Uluru statement
from the heart, which called
for a voice to parliament."
