I thought you were being facetious with that comment; "(Paul) Admit it, the natives were rescued by the British. Their standard of living is vastly improved thanks to the civilizing influence and benevolence of the settlers." Maybe not, I'm not so sure now. Could one day a foreign power, uninvited, but armed to the teeth, turn up on our sunny shores with the same good intentions of rescuing us from ourselves, improving our living standards, even civilising us, and of course acting with that same good old British like benevolence. Like the Aboriginals couldn't wait for the British cup of kindness to arrive, I think we should do the same.

I have to do what I think is the right thing to do.
And I have made up my mind as to what that is concerning
our Indigenous First Nations People. I'm sure that you
have as well. That's all each of us can do.

And we shall have to wait and see what the majority
of Australians decide.
