«I do not see where I posted a lie.»

Let's call it a "myth" rather than a lie, because lies can only be made deliberately.

The common myth is that Judaism existed intact as a separate culture/nation/religion for 3500 years.

«I think any time after ad1000 can be considered "modern" times as
science was starting to make major progress and the printing press
was coming.»

The print press was invented by Gutenberg around 1440.

«The reason the Jews were unpopular in Europe was because they
were the major bankers.»

Evidence of Jew-hatred can be found as early as the Roman lawyer Cicero, 106-43 B.C., that is long before banks existed.

Hello Yuyutsu, thanks for the history lesson !
Yes, it is all very complicated.
On ABC Mrs Albonesie the UN Lawyer kept referring to Palestinian land
occupied by the Israelis.
Does that infer that when the Roman Army expelled the Jews from
Judea that their title to the land expired ?
Re where they went, of course the crusaders came much later. Was it
North Africa most went to. One tribe I read went to India.

The assertion that the land is theirs by the Israelis is behind all
this Middle Eastern trouble.
The moslems beleive that land once occupied by moslems remains
moslem land forever. I have not seen a firm reference to that claim
yet, so I do not know the truth of it.
If however it is widely believed it explains why a two state solution is impossible.
What a mess, the ME has imposed on the rest of us !

Dear Bezza,

«Does that infer that when the Roman Army expelled the Jews from Judea that their title to the land expired?»

The Romans never expelled all the Jews, only those from Jerusalem.

«Was it North Africa most went to.»

Jews left Israel to many places, gradually due to economic pressures. Not all of them left.

«One tribe I read went to India.»

Some Jews went to India, yes, but the whole story of "tribes" belongs to legend, not to reality.

According to Biblical legends, Judea and the kingdom of Israel to its north had common ancestors (Abraham, Isaac and Jacob), and while Judea consisted mainly of the tribe of Judah, one of the sons of Jacob, the kingdom of Israel consisted of the tribes of the other sons of Jacob, Judah's brothers. These other tribes were exiled by the Assyrians some 100's of years before the Babylonians expelled the Judeans, and another legend says that the ones in India are from the tribe of Menasheh, another son of Jacob.

Archaeological research refutes that legend and tell us that Israel and Judea were unrelated kingdoms.

«The assertion that the land is theirs by the Israelis is behind all this Middle Eastern trouble.»

You may be interested to know that the first Zionists did not think so.
They just decided to BUY that land and make it theirs, with money, sweat and determination. They planned for the local Arabs to join them in creating a wonderful new modern and liberal state, based on their common ancient culture, but were surprised and disappointed by Arab resistance and thus also paid for their land with blood and tears.

«The moslems beleive that land once occupied by moslems remains moslem land forever.»

The Quran can be read in many ways: this is one way to read it if that's what one wants to believe in.

«If however it is widely believed it explains why a two state solution is impossible.»

The extremists on both sides prevent it.
There once used to be less of them and then it was possible, but they procreate faster.

Regarding ancestral claims to Palestine: Have seen reports that DNA tests show a large proportion of Palestinians are descended from people who lived there in Biblical times. Including Palestinian Jews. Also, most relatively recent immigrant Jews are not. Some of their ancestry has been described by detractors as the "Khazarian Mafia."
Rough outline regarding history of this: Was a kingdom of Khazaria in areas including Eastern Ukraine and Georgia over 1000 km north of Palestine. Apparently neighbouting Russians and Persians got sick of rogue behaviour there in around AD 750 and forced it to adopt an Abrahamic religion to try and improve ethics of people and rulers. Judaism was selected. Anyway, around 1250 AD behaviour was bad enough to prompt Russians and Persians to invade again. Apparently many of the Khazarian Jew ruling class escaped and fled to various places around Europe where they settled. Then in 1916 during WW1, Arabs helped the British evict the Ottoman Empire from Palestine. While the war was somewhat at a stalemate, "poms" promised to influential Jews in America that if USA could be manipulated into helping war effort, they would set up a Jewish homeland in Palestine. Initially according to the "Balfour Declaration" by British government, this was supposed to not disadvantage Palestinians. However, the more immigrant Jews got, the more they wanted and Jewish State of Israel was set up in 1948. Since then, it has effectively largely been the Criminal Apartheid Zionist Settler State in Occupied Palestine where immigrant Jews have more rights than indigenous Palestinians. Zionists being those who support a Jewish State. Important to note that some Jews are strongly anti Zionist. Including those supporting Jewish Voice for Peace and the ultra orthodox Neturei Karta organisations. Regarding Jew haters, the Zionist government in Israel is creating a lot more with all their attacks against targets in Gaza which have been killing and injuring large numbers of civilians - especially women and children while often being unlikely to have achieved much regarding military benefits. .

Dear Mox,

The ethnic facts you mentioned are well-known.

But how is that relevant?

Zionists didn't want a Jewish state - Zionists wanted a Hebrew state and only reluctantly accepted a Jewish state because following the holocaust, that's what the world and the United-Nations were willing to offer them!

So what if the British promised some American Jews to set up a Jewish homeland? Whether true or otherwise, suppose they indeed talked talked talked, it was not the British who built Israel, nor American Jews - it was the Israelis themselves who did, and did so DESPITE the British rule and immigrated there DESPITE the British trying to stop them!

So OK, what if they were mostly Khazarian? The local Arabs (i.e. as you state, former Jews who converted to Islam) were still happy to take their money when they bought the land, that didn't stop them!

Zionists had great respect for Israel's local Arabs (many even tried to imitate them, for example by wearing the Kafia¹): should the Zionists been allowed to have their way, then all the local Arabs would have been equal and respectful citizens in the new modern state of Israel.

In retrospect, what sadly happened which the Zionist Israelis failed to foresee, was that instead of joyfully joining the great Zionist project as expected, the Arabs rejected and fought against it. That wasn't because they were Jewish or Khazarian - they rejected them because they brought along social progress that threatened to topple their traditional Arab/Islamic/conservative/patriarchal society and give equal rights to their women.

Lately, as Arab leaders are more open to social progress, they are also more open to befriend Israel.

Those who still use terror to try and keep the region in the dark ages, are now being successfully decimated in Gaza. This helps Gazan people, especially their women, and brings closer the day when everyone can live there peacefully, regardless of that silly ethnicity thing.

I do not support calls for a cease-fire, a humanitarian pause or any other form of words which creates a pause in the fighting. Almost without exception, a cease-fire between Israel and the nations surrounding it is broken when the entity attacking Israel has rebuilt its strength and re-armed.

I call on all parties involved in attacks on Israel to realise the folly of continuing attacks. I call on all parties which have attacked Israel to remove from their platform a call for death to all Jews and for the crushing of the state of Israel.

When this concept, of universal peace, is enacted then and only then will there be lasting peace in the Eastern Mediterranean shore.
