No good claiming that Israel is at fault in waging war.
If you are stupid enough to attack a country that is more powerful
and better armed than yourself, you get what you deserve.

We have a problem right here in Australia.
I saw the videos of the Palistinian parades that had motor cycle escorts.
The police were too frightened to pull over all those motorbikes that
were not displaying number plates.
Take your number plates off and see how long before you are pulled over.
It is about time the police cracked down on all this defiance of the
law as it is tactic that has been used very successfully in the UK,
France, and Germany. The police in those countries have been emasculated.

Anyway this Palestinian cause is based on a lie.
The land did belong to the Jews thousands of years before Islam was invented.
The Arabs think it is their land because they seized it in AD737.
Islam tells them that once held by muslims it is Islamic land forever.
Those two lines are what is behind all this upheaval.
It is why it becomes a religious war, not just a war over possession.

Dear Bezza,

The foundations for Israel's existence and why it should remain are solid enough:
there's no need to further "support" them with fiction, which once exposed only weakens Israel's international standing.

«Anyway this Palestinian cause is based on a lie.»

Indeed, total nonsense, so where is the need to add incorrect statements of your own?

«The land did belong to the Jews thousands of years before Islam was invented.»

No more than 1,400 years is not "thousands", that's when any buds of Jewish "identity" started to develop - Judaism as we know and could recognise today, only developed much later, between the 8th and 12th century.

«The Arabs think it is their land because they seized it in AD737.»

They did not.

I assume you are referring to the conquest of Jerusalem in the year 637, not 737.

The conquering Arabs were few, they were fighters - not a population.
They only left a small guard in Israel while the rest continued to conquer other lands (Turkey, Egypt, Libya). Further, they were Arab but not Muslim: Islam still did not exist at the time.

«It is why it becomes a religious war, not just a war over possession.»

Not all Israelis are Jews.
Not all Jews are Israeli.
Not all Arabs are Muslim.
Not all Muslims are Arab.
Most of both Jewish Israelis and Arab "Palestinians" are not even religious.

And if you take the Jewish scripture at face value, then the Jews are supposed to now be in exile, being punished for their sins. They are not to take back their old land until God forgives them.

Israelis, even when they happen to be Jews, are not there BECAUSE they are Jews. They bought the land, with money but also with their blood, sweat and tears, they built it, cultivated it including its uninhabitable desolated parts, then successfully defended it. Israelis have their distinct culture, and while it incorporates some Jewish elements, it also incorporates local elements in common with the so-called "Palestinians".

That Israel deserves to live and thrive need not depend on them being Jewish.

Yuyutsu;
In the rein of Augustus the Romans had troubles with the Jews
in Jerusalem and indeed Pontious Pilot was asked by the Jewish priests
to do something about Jesus Christ.
In ad 47 the Romans expelled the Jews from Jerusalem.
I think that was the time when many Jews went to Europe with the
Crusaders in their ships.
You might clarify that for me.
Yes, I did mean 637ad.
I am a bit confused by your reference to 1400 years as the beginning of the Jews. Either you or I are confused there. eg 1400 yrs ago.
Islam was founded before 632 when Muhammad died.
I have seen suggestions that the Jews were a sect of the Canaanites
that lived in that area before 3000 years ago.
I do not see where I posted a lie.
I am no expert on Middle East history but I have read how Christians
and Zoroastrians all declined rapidly after the Arabs took over in Mesopotamia in the 7th century

Yuyutsu; whoops, I was referring to;
there's no need to further "support" them with fiction,
not as I said a lie.

I think any time after ad1000 can be considered "modern" times as
science was starting to make major progress and the printing press
was coming.

MOX,
The reason the Jews were unpopular in Europe was because they
were the major bankers. You only have to watch our TV news etc
to see that our bankers are not very popular !

Dear Bezza,

«In the rein of Augustus the Romans had troubles with the Jews
in Jerusalem and indeed Pontious Pilot was asked by the Jewish priests
to do something about Jesus Christ.»

Such "troubles" were routine and common in every Roman province.
Assuming Jesus was in his early 30's, that was about 40 years before the great Jewish rebellion, so it is hardly related.

«In ad 47 the Romans expelled the Jews from Jerusalem.»

In AD 70, when the Jews rebelled.

Further rebellions took place later - read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jewish%E2%80%93Roman_wars

«I think that was the time when many Jews went to Europe with the
Crusaders in their ships.»

The crusaders were between the years 1096 and 1300.

While the Jews of Jerusalem were taken to Rome after the destruction of the temple in the year 70, many left gradually later for economic reasons, and most of those who remained gradually converted, first to Christianity, then to Islam... to become today's "Palestinians".

«I am a bit confused by your reference to 1400 years as the beginning of the Jews. Either you or I are confused there. eg 1400 yrs ago.»

That is just under 1400 years between the times of Jewish King Josiah and Muhammad.

«Islam was founded before 632 when Muhammad died.»

That is what the Muslim Hadith claims. Science shows a very different picture. At the time of Muhammad's death, those to later become Muslims were a Christian sect. The Quran and with it the separation from Christianity came only in the 790's and finalised only around the year 1000.

«I have seen suggestions that the Jews were a sect of the Canaanites
that lived in that area before 3000 years ago.»

The Judeans and the Canaanites were one and the same.
Of course the Judeans had human ancestors, of course they did not descend straight from the monkeys, but until King Josiah they had nothing that we could call "Jewish" about them, including their god.
