DD, you do realise that this is an open forum, and that hundreds of other people read and follow it?
Seeing as how you have been so honest and open explaining your position and feelings about animals and people, I think you might want to keep those comments/thoughts to yourself, in future, if you want to be taken seriously.
Firstly I can empathise on your position about people, but only the naive, ignorant, mis-informed, un-informed, immature, subjective, emotionally driven hopeless cases, like yourself.
People who choose to worship or favour animals over humans, are mentally and emotionally, ill.
Animals were not created as an extension or member of a human family.
They are fu%&ing ANIMALS.
If you are of the opinion that an animal is of a higher standing than a human, you can go live with them by all means, but humans are the top of the pile in this world, you can go and live in your world, probably "The planet of the Apes".
Because you are certainly not MAINSTREAM HUMAN, on this world.
I'm not going to even begin to explain why you are wrong, nuts even.
It would be like trying to have a sensible discussion with a drunk or mental patient.
So you can go and vegan your arse off for all I and billions of other people care about those who like you are just so narrow minded, your not worth the effort.
Get it through your head, we eat meat and fish, we are designed to do so, it is natural for us.
We are at the top of the food chain, get it?
We have a duty of care to keep ourselves and our families safe from danger, and if we can eat the flesh of these predators, we are getting a double benefit from killing them and eating them, if they are edible.

altrav, you write absolute crap.
Humans are animals, Homo Sapiens to be exact.
Species Homo Sapiens
Genus Homo
Kingdom Animalia
Phylum Chordata If you really want to know.
You may be different but, as your arrogant, bigoted post, shows, you may be top of the food chain but you certainly are NOT better than other animals.

ateday, you utter moron, for attacking me like that, you deserve the worst of what OLO has to offer, in punishment.
Obviously you can't read?
Did you not read the rules?
I don't care personally, but I'm not going to let you try to get one through to the keeper, so take it that I've knocked you out of the park, beyond a six.
In case your petulant adolescent brain is incapable of reason, at the very least you are supposed to play the ball, NOT the man!
You honestly think you made a point by simply writing a list of names denoting the many forms of animals.
I've got news for you, you might have stayed up all night to find all those big words, you've never seen or heard before, but you wasted your time.
Firstly I already know of them and secondly, I didn't need to read them at all.
But at least you learned something in looking them up.
So unless you have something to say regarding this topics heading, I would say you have demonstrated this topic well by showing us what a pest (you) is all about.
And obviously being that your the pest, then it stands to reason I must be the predator.
Unless you have a reasoned and mature line of conversation to introduce to a topic, don't bother writing any more of the drivel and bile you seem only to know.
We're not interested!

My goodness what an ignorant article and comment section.

My cousin is in Parks Victoria and one of the biggest dangers to his staff are confrontations with pig hunters within National Parks. These guys are releasing hundreds of sows with ears removed as breeding stock into parks across Victoria. They then start hunting the offspring, usually with dogs and knives and usually after dark. They GPS track the dogs which are wearing protective gear and go and take the cornered pigs down with knives.

Rangers will spend a lot of time and resources to rid an area of feral pigs only to find them reintroduced by these morons. Forbes wants to reward this behaviour by opening the parks up to them.

How idiotic is that.
