During the six years of Labor government various new positions were created on the AHRC. The budget was significantly increased but the government did not manage to find time to appoint a new commissioner.

Marliyn Andrew Bolt is just a right wing Anti Racist, he's an egalitarian extremist just like you, both leftists and right wingers agree on racial assimilation and at the end of the day both sides are equally willing to use force in pursuit of their aims.
Look at the alternative proposals, zero net immigration is a non violent measure, abolishing the human rights industry and special rights and privileges for groups based on race or national origin is also a non violent measure.
There's no such thing as a good candidate for the HREOC, it's always going to be biased toward unsustainable Third World immigration, silencing dissent against multiculturalism and above all carrying out it's primary mission of protecting the economic interests and elite status of the Jewish minority.

Thank heavens for OLO, it gives a platform for this very thoughtful and balanced article by Sev.

AND ("the serial racist liar Andrew Bolt" and "carrying out it's primary mission of protecting the economic interests and elite status of the Jewish minority.") it also provides a free speech platform for the 'sicko haters' as well. Three cheers for OLO.

To answer Marilyn's question, because supporting free speech of a journalist commenting upon a social issue in a newspaper is what the $300,000 p.a. Human Rights commissioners are paid to do.

The fact that they were missing in action during the Bolt trial supports the reasonable assumption that they are only interested in supporting the Human Rights of criminals, terrorists, illegal immigrants, and homosexuals.

Ahhh Marilyn

Are you angry because Tony is in fact stopping the boats or are you just angry.

It is pretty tedious now and you really are hurting yourself.
Be gentle Marilyn.

when someone is appointed that defends the human rights of the unborn then we will know the position is worthwhile. Up until then we know its all just nonsense.

Prompete, Yes I'm trolling but whether my statement is true or not you'll agree that it's a good tactic to use in illustrating the way any mention of the "J-word" in a sentence that doesn't sing their praises will strike fear into the hearts of White Liberals.
White Liberals are just as intimidated by the people beginning with J and the people beginning with M as non Liberals because we all understand that we have no protection under the law from predatory or particularly litigious ethnic associations and individuals.
Do you realise that if I was known to have written material online disparaging the Holocaust dogma or multiculturalism I would be immediately arrested if I tried to enter the EU? In this country I could also be jailed for five years and lose all my assets simply for saying or writing certain words.
As I said in another thread, don't assume there are good intentions behind human rights laws because as they've developed they've become more oppressive in their tone and their enforcement has only become more violent. After all in 2013 drone strikes and state sanctioned assassinations are all covered by the human rights umbrella, Hellfire missiles continue to rain down across the Islamic world so that Malala and her sisters can go to school ;)
