Hi Foxy,

Morrison showed a character flaw when he said; "You don't have to like your dentist as long as he gets the job done." There is a thing called empathy, and be it a politician or a dentist, empathy is important, something Morrison lacks. BTW I like my dentist, a lovely Indian girl with loads of empathy. Last time told me all about her 2 young children, and how they were looking forward to going to one of those indoor climbing places for kids on the weekend. Nothing to do with dentistry, but a nice conversation.

On the election I have to give my vote to my mate Bernard, the guy has put in a huge effort at weekend markets, street stalls, door knocks, rain, hail or shine, mostly rain. Hopefully a vote better than last election at 12% will be welcomed. Bernard unselfishly knows he can't win the seat, but he can boost the Senate chances of our lead candidate.

I recall some years back a Green candidate in a NSW State election took 4 weeks holidays to campaign, knowing she had no chance of winning the seat, but wanted to give it her best shot. The Liberal guy who bought an old bus out of his own funds to campaign in, he didn't win either, but I gave him my preference, just for effort.

Hi Paul,

I was disappointed to learn that the young guy who's
replaced Kevin Andrews in our electorate was against
saying "sorry" to our Indigenous people and it gets
worse. I thought he was a moderate. It turns out that
he's just like Kevin Andrews was. Only a young version.
How sad.

Watched Albanese at the National Press Club today, seems to have developed an air of confidence about his winning chances on Saturday. That's not to write Morrison off, he is definitely still a big chance of winning. Today's ABS figures showing inflation is running at twice wages growth is a nail in the Coalitions coffin, but its not a death sentence.

I make no secret of the fact I vote Green, but should the Coalition be returned, I will not lose any sleep over it.

ps; Morrison was also invited to address the NPC this week but declined, hummm!

Hi Paul,

I also watched Anthony Albanese's speech at the National
Press Club in Canberra a short time ago and learned that
Scott Morrison turned down the invitation to speak there,
instead opting to speak elsewhere. Wonder where he spoke?
Probably to a sympathetic and supportive audience.

It has always been a bit of a tradition for the leaders of
both the major parties to speak at the National Press Club
in Canberra prior to the election and not only give their
summary of why they should be elected but also to answer
the questions put to them by a variety of journalists from
all sides.

It appears that Morrison chickened out. A true shame.
But then he probably suspects that he wasn't up to the job
of fielding questions and that simply finger-pointing and
blaming the other side wasn't going to wash with voters
anymore.

Still,

Voters have a right to make an informed choice at the ballot box.
Morrison has denied them that.

This is a time for journalists to hold our politicians to
account, not only for their future promises, but for their
past deeds and failures.

Neglect, corruption, and incompetence can't be allowed to
fester unseen. As Tony Windsor recently put it:

"We cannot afford a second decade of inertia."

This Saturday will determine the path this country takes
through one of the most treacherous decades Australians
would have faced.

Scott Morrison seems more interested in changing himself
to keep his position and that of his party rather than changing
the country for the better. We can't afford another decade of
more of the same.

We needed Scott Morrison to present himself at the National Press
where his plans for the future could have been examined.
As has been his record to date. He has let us down again.

Hi Foxy,

Labor, from it very beginning has treated government as a privilege, where as the Conservatives given their "born to rule" mantra, see government as their god given right. Should by some outlandish turn of events the people choose the riff-raff to govern, the Conservatives know it was all a mistake by the voters, mostly riff-raff themselves, and they have to be corrected.
