Pauliar,

You are a liar and a fraud. Porter is accused of nothing.

As Twiggy Forest said, "the greens are a party for paedophiles".

It's no wonder that the Independents are gaining
in popularity. The recent election campaigns have
been particularly nasty ( Gollum adds). Election
campaigns as I wrote on another thread - put many
people under pressure, not just the candidates and
their staff but political journalists as well.

Journalists are not perfect - but with the recent
campaigns could the media have done better? Or is
there a deep flaw in the profession? The coverage of
the NDIS has created an emotional and physical distress
for its dependents. And the list goes on.

I can't help but wonder what will the Liberal Party
look like if it loses moderate Josh Frydenberg?

Will it be the death knell for the party?

Hi Paul,

Just a bit off topic.

Have you ever heard of Uncle Wes Marne?

Uncle Wes Marne is a Bigambul man and community elder
who has lived in Mt Druitt, Sydney for 45 years. When
he was 9 years old the government walked his family off
tribal lands from the Stanthorpe Hills to Dreambird
Mission, Queensland.

Now at age 100 he's committed to sharing the traditional
knowledge of his grandfather's creation and dreaming
stories and his personal experiences of his life as an
Aboriginal man over the last century.

He's written a book - "Through Old Eyes," which is a
collection of stories, poetry, and his life to mark his
100th Birthday. Uncle Wes comes froma long line of
storytellers. His show "Fire Bucket," premiered at the 2016
Sydney Festival and played to sell out audiences. He's
toured Melvbourne and other parts of the country.

I watched his interview on TV. A fascinating character.
With much to tell. His book - "Through Old Eyes," which
was published in May 2022 - is worth getting a hold of.
I'm going to buy several copies from Readings. They don't
have it in stock, but they will order it for me.

Hi Foxy,

I've heard of Wes Marne, but never met him. The latter part of my working life was in crisis housing in the inner burbs of Sydney. Mostly finding, and settling, older men into affordable accommodation, blokes on a pension of some sort mostly, such as the Aged Pension. Many were destitute, no family, problems with alcohol, mental illness, other illnesses, blokes who had given up on life. When some jerk comes on here and slags off public servants, I take offence, as I know PS guys who work hard to help others, and make a difference.

Hi Paul,

Talking about guys who work hard to help others and
make a difference. There's many out there. For me -

Fr Bob Maguire comes to mind. This Catholic priest has
certainly made a difference to so many. Unfortunately he
was forced by church authorities to resign in 2012.
Fr Bob went on doing his work. the Fr Bob Maguire
Foundation today operates within the City of Port Phillip
and currently distributes more than 2,500 hot meals each
month.

Hi Paul,

Talking about leadership skills?

I like the quote by Francis Bacon:

"He doth like the ape, that the higher he clymbes the
more he shows his ars."
