What the hell is it with lock downs & toilet paper. It is not as if paper is hard to come by today.
As a kid in Townsville just after the war, one of my chores was to cut up news paper into about 4" squares, poke a hole in one corner for the string that tied a few dozen together, to hang in the dunny, 30 yards up the back yard. Unlike today, that paper was not delivered free, but had to be bought, actually to get the latest news in those before TV days. So it was not to save money, but toilet paper was as yet not reliably available, like many things just after the war. Today we get local papers free, & thrown at our front fence almost daily, so there is no such shortage of paper available. Granted one of ours is on glossy paper, & not much use I would expect, but there is no shortage of the unglazed stuff, suitable for such purposes, so why the rush, when food is much more important in the scheme of things. Even news print inks don't come off on what ever they touch today, as of yore, so what's the problem? It just shows how dependent people have become dedicated use items, delivered to a shop near them. God help us if anything really important suffers a supply problem. Chalk and Cheese
I just had this youtube video from skynews show up in my feed of recommended videos. ‘It must be part of a master plan’: COVID drugs banned despite efficacy http://youtu.be/R1eXkeW444w And I thought to myself, how many people died horrible, horrible deaths, because the government dragged its feet for years not helping people to get CBD oil, that medicinal cannabis extract that people seem to be going to that helps with cancers and such. My friends pet dog is currently on it at the moment, costs $500 month, but it's the only thing that has made any kind of difference for him at all as I understand it. I don't know how good these alternative drugs are; But just thinking about that, means we can't expect the right discussions on what they should've done, until the spend a few more years screwing everything up first. Par for the course. Posted by Armchair Critic, Monday, 16 August 2021 10:15:24 AM

Thanks for the good wishes; yes, we’re both fully vaccinated.
That was no joke about corn husks, we usually use them as firestarters and as fuel in the slow combustion stove.
You and yours stay safe as well, it’s not over by a long shot yet.
If you hear a low murmuring in the Southern distance it’s the prayers of thanks being chanted by the Opposition for losing the last election.
