The reason Australia has compulsory voting is to ensure that there is full political participation by the nation.

In the US this is not part of the political culture. I have never seen a reason for it but can only assume it is just historical consequence aimed at keeping the franchise to a specific group in the early years and the US just never got around to making it compulsory.

I think it is a good idea. Everyone should be able to play a part in their political system even if is is just as the occasional voter.

And not everyone in Australia votes. Only those 18 and above.

My post had precisely nothing, nix, nada to do with the investigation into Biden’s efforts to stop an investigation into Burisma. It was about the Hunter files and what they showed about the way the Democrat aristocracy convert influence into bribes. More importantly, it was about the successful efforts of the media/big tech/FBI to suppress the truth.

Additionally, had the Biden inquiry had access to the Hunter files, that inquiry would probably have had a very different outcome. They didn’t have access because the FBI was hiding the information. I’ll leave you to ponder why.

I was going to ask how SR so badly misunderstood my post, but then I realised that this is someone whose ability to utterly misunderstand the written word is exceeded only by his ability to completely screw up numbers
