Your psychotic loathing of anyone conservative seems to continually block any form of rational thought.

According to the National Federation of Fishermen's Organisations, which has been briefed on the matter by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, EU fishing quota in UK waters will be reduced by 15% in the first year and 2.5 percentage points each year after.

"By June 2026, it's estimated that UK boats will have access to an extra £145m of fishing quota every year. In 2019, British vessels caught 502,000 tonnes of fish, worth around £850m, inside UK waters.

The UK would have the right to completely exclude EU boats after 2026."

I also take it that you have accepted that:

-the UK has still tariff and quota-free trade with the EU,
-can now develop free trade arrangements with the other 85% of the world economy,
-dropped the roughly AU$15bn annual net contributions to the EU coffers,
-removed the yoke of the ECJ arbitrary judgements,
-Regained control of its borders.

SR,

Are you seriously stupid enough to claim that the UK's opening negotiating position was what anyone was expecting them to get? The EU's position was that it wanted to keep all its quota for fishing in UK waters in perpetuity.

Secondly, as the EU exports nearly 2x as much to the UK (in politically sensitive markets) as vice versa and much of the UK's exports to the EU are oil and gas which can easily be sold elsewhere putting up regulatory barriers which can be reciprocated is idiotic.

While you merrily cherry-pick your analysts the reality is that this deal is widely regarded as good for the UK and gives it a far better outcome than the "Canada style" deal they were originally going for.

Dear Shadow Minister,

You really are a prize pillock aren't you.

Your were quoting from a BBC report which referenced the National Federation of Fishermen's Organisations “bare bones understanding” of the deal. This was their release.
http://nffo.org.uk/news/fisheries-deal-24th-december-2020.html

Their proper response was released a couple of days later. Here it is.

Quote

“MINISCULE, MARGINAL, PALTRY, PATHETIC”

Some of the adjectives that will be in circulation within the UK fishing industry today, to describe the change in UK quota shares as the UK leaves the EU and the CFP, and the content of what was agreed in Brussels on Christmas eve sinks in. Some of the bell-weather stocks tell the story most vividly, After a further five years adjustment period, the UK’s share of Channel cod will have increased from 9.3% to 10.2%.

The UK’s share of Celtic Sea haddock will have increased from 10% to 20%, leaving 80% in the hands of the EU fleets for a further five years.

North Sea saithe: UK share increases from 23% to 26%, again, in steps over 5 years, leaving the lion’s share in EU hands.

In the meantime, EU fleets have free access to fish in UK waters – including up to six miles of the shoreline in the areas where it matters.

Throughout the fishing industry there is a profound sense of disillusionment, betrayal, and fury that after all the rhetoric, promises and assurances, the Government caved-in on fish.

End quote

Damn. Yup, that's one hell of a coup for your mate Boris.

Lol.

Pathetic mate. Try and pull the other one.

SR,

You really are a fatuous twat, aren't you?

In the first year, the EU will lose 15% of its catch in UK waters and even your website links confirm that. The losses will ratchet up to 25% over the next 5 years and after that, the UK can take the lot but probably won't as its fishing fleet needs to grow. That certain areas won't grow as quickly as others do not affect the overall figures or that in 5 1/2 years the UK will have full control.

However, the main point of the trade agreement is not in fishing. Something that clearly does not aid your ranting.

Dear Shadow Minister,

Lol.

Well who am I to believe? One of the top independent analysts in the UK along with the very organisation you quoted who have since used words like; “MINISCULE, MARGINAL, PALTRY, PATHETIC” and said the deal delivered “a profound sense of disillusionment, betrayal, and fury that after all the rhetoric, promises and assurances, the Government caved-in on fish”?

Or a key board warrior like yourself, one who has a bit of a kink for right wing buffoons?

Oh the difficult choices life throws at us.
