the filthy business of politics"? and that being the reason
for his failure as a former PM? Is rather questionable
when the man had a solid reputation as a "wrecking ball"
and simply thrived on division, aggression, and confrontation
even - from his early years in university. As testified by
the many who knew him then and since.
His reputation was even well known overseas - as Emily
Thornberry - British parliamentarian said:
that the appointment of a failed Australian Prime Minister was
a "humiliation"particularly given that Britain was hosting the
next round of global climate talks.
"On a personal level, I am disgusted that (Prime Minister)
Boris Johnson thinks this - offensive, leering, cantankerous,
climate-change denying, Trump-worshipping, misogynist, is the
right person to represent our country overseas".
Thornberry added:
"He was ousted by his own colleagues after 2 years in power,
and kicked out of Australian politics by his own constituents
just last year".
"They are the people who knew him best, and they wanted to
get rid of him - yet here we are, hiring him to negotiate our
trade deals around the world. It it wasn't so downright
humiliating, it would be almost hilarious".
Tony Abbott may be laughing in London. But London certainly
won't be laughing for long - going by Mr Abbott's past record.
