Shadow Minister,

In the wake of former PM Gillard's speech on misogyny
in Parliament, in particular from then oppoistion
leader Tony Abbott, Sue Butler, Editor of The Macquarie
Dictionary made an announcement stating that The
Macquarie was moving from the outmoded definition of
misogyny "hatred of women" to reflect current usage
which is a "synonym for sexism with a stronger edge to it".

And, as I tried to explain to you earlier (on page 22),
this was not about "hatred of women" but about Mr Abbott's
entrenched prejudices which are well documented.

Foxy,

This is the problem, what you claim is well documented is anything but. All you have is snippets of innuendo such as his "winking" or when he comments on a scientifically proven tendency of women he must be sexist because it goes against the left whinge dogma.

Look at all the women that worked for him. Peta Credlin is one who experienced misogyny only from Labor and the greens. All the powerful women working with him thought he was fantastic.

The women working for Rudd thought he was an arsehole.

Foxy,

To quote women who were close to TA incl Christine Forster who you quoted out of context earlier:

"Women who are close to Mr Abbott have come out in fierce defence of him. Peta Credlin, Mr Abbott’s one-time chief of staff and now a media personality, told UK’s TalkRadio: “Even in parliament for 25 years every single one of his chiefs of staff were women. It is complete and utter rubbish (he is a misogynist). The guy’s got three sisters, a very strong, independent wife and three daughters. He’s not a misogynist.”

Tony Abbott’s sister Christine Forster slammed the British critics who have castigated him as a homophobe and misogynist saying they are “nothing short of dishonest.”

Ms Forster said: “As a woman who came out to him as gay in my early 40s, I know incontrovertibly that Tony is neither of those things. In reality he is a man of great conviction and intellect ....with great compassion, respect for others and an indelible sense of doing what’s right."

Foxy,

I concur with the shady shadowminister about Tony Abbott not being a misogynist. I do not see any evidence that Abbott hates women.

But his attitude towards women is contemptible. He treats women with contempt because he has a patriarchal view of the world. His world is one in which men have control over everything except childbirth and women play a secondary role in which their status is that of being a vehicle for a foetus.

I think it is time for Tony Abbott to come out. An event that is long over due. I wonder if the shady shadowminister can offer any suggestions on this point.

Ms Gillard to stay in power backed Peter Slipper who tweeted about women's gentila ('shell-less mussles). Like every regressive hypocrite she was more concerned about power and Tony Abbott winking than any principle or concern for women's rights. She also opposed 'gay' marriage as PM until she felt the tide had turned. She hated Abbot because he was smarter, stuck to his principles (she had none) and showed her hypocrisy.
