At a death cafe individuals can discuss their thoughts, dreams, understandings, concerns, feelings, fears and all other matters relating to death and dying at the cafe, whilst sitting around a table, with a cup of tea and coffee if they want one.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-07-04/death-cafe-aims-to-help-conversations-about-end-of-life/11271640

Is visiting a death cafe too confronting for you? Is death an issue you would rather not face or talk about? Would visiting a death cafe be something you would consider?

I reckon this would be of interest to the many on The Forum who have shown themselves to be brain dead: Hasbeen, individual, mhaze, Shadow Minister, Bazz, ALTRAV, LEGO, runner, and the other usual suspects.

Go to it fellas. This is your chance to come to grips with your reality.

Anything with the ABC attached to it, is bound to be a problem.

Firstly, death is nothing new. How many Koala Bears went west in the bush fires?
That would be painful to the ABC, with its list of priorities above the human.

And secondly, I do believe, from the preaching of the secular child, we are all to die a dreadful death from global warming.

Especially if we don't hasten the death of a few old age pensioners, by making power prices unaffordable in the attempt to save the world for those living in the Eastern Suburbs.

And myself, I'll just cling to the traditional cultural Christian philosophical view, and have faith in its teachings on death and beyond.

diver dan,

I gather you see unbridled anthropogenic global warming as leading to an extinction event.

Mr O

Oh God yea. I love to be swept along in mass panic situations.
I'd be quite at home in a shopping centre mass shooting.

There is an afterlife for conservatives. Once you are pronounced brain dead, you are packed off to Canberra to be part of the Morrison government.

Liberal MP Jim Molan is so open minded on GW that his brain fell out.

Paul1405,

Jim Molan is no dummy so I'm guessing his display of ignorance was less to do with understanding the evidence and more about supporting the LNP stance that the burning of fossil fuels is not the source of today's global warming and climate change.

He is just another denialist: a person who refuses to admit the truth of a concept or proposition that is supported by the majority of scientific or historical evidence.

Molin's denialism is motivated by political expediency. He has to be seen as being a team player by both the party members and the public.

Paul 14.05 Klm from Nimbin.

Reading your posts, I see your problem is related to the centre of your introverted, perverted universe, aka Byron Bay, of which obviously, you have become a captive.

A fantasy playground for the bored, rich and famous, to perfect their psycosexually disfunctional lifestyles, around drug fuelled debauchery, and pretence that riding push bikes naked through a CBD is chick, and a a lovely display of left leaning libertarianism.

And it's you who complain the loudest about the misadventures of our common enemy BB.
What's his excuse?
Well I've long ago concluded it's simply a shrunken brain, the outcome of overuse and abuse of the drug alcohol.

My conclusion to all this is, neither side of politics should be influenced by drugs.
And so I support the proposal of Jacqui Lambie,
http://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/jacqui-lambie-calls-for-federal-mps-to-undergo-drug-testing/ar-AAGT53m
to drug test politicians at the beginning of the daily parliamentary sittings, to ensure this country is governed by straight thinking Christians. A cultural necessity, for correct social outcomes.

I have written a song about death to the tune of Harrigan.

D – E - A – T - H. It spells death. That’s me.
Many are the lives that I have ended.
Into oblivion they’ve descended.

D – E - A – T - H. it’s the end, you see
When I come, then you go.
When it is, you won’t know.
De-e-eath (clutching throat), that’s me.

The song I just sang is death personified. That is a primitive belief much akin to the animist belief that mountains, trees and other entities have a form of conscious life. Death is not an entity any more than birth or any natural process is. It is just the end of life.
There is no evidence for an afterlife for bacteria, humans or koalas.

In my opinion, it is a copout to ask other people for their opinions on any matter without first giving your own. It is rude and wimpy to expect others to declare themselves without putting your own views first; particularly with such a daft topic available only via the ABC.

Real men say, 'I reckon such and such - what do you think?'

I think this topic is just too stupid to comment on, so i won't.
Instead I'll comment on the fact that it's that stupid and irrelevant that it falls withing the purview of Mr O and Paul.
So there you go fella's, knock yourselves out.

No avoiding either judgement or mercy from our Creator. No amount of denial will change that.

Of course ALTRAV, this topic wont interest you, as one of the already brain dead, you can't get on here praising Rolf, George and Bill, as you like to do.

ALTRAV,

Stupid covers it well. These days not much that originates from the ABC is sensible. But, why do people ask questions of others, apropos of nothing? They are either looking for confirmation of their own thoughts (lack of confidence and fear) or they are looking for an argument (political rabble rousers). You will remember better than most a person (now departed) who was always asking questions so that she could lambast those of us who gave the 'wrong' answer. The best way to deal with irritating inquisitors is to answer their question with a question of your own; 'why do you want to know', for instance. Watching the embarrassed squirming and defensiveness caused by an unexpected response is a beautiful day thing.

TTBN, OK, let's see........
Ok Paul, Mr O, you pair of clowns, tell me then why do you think I am what you say I am?
Now take your time, I want references , links and graphs, oh yeah, at least one graph, that should seal my fate and make you both happy.
You should feel honored that I'm wasting a posting page on responding to your little game of petty childishness, but what the hey, I have a sense of humour too, so let's see how you score on this one.

Is that what you were doing Diver Dan/Kim? Being insulting, and I thought you were just being revolting. Do you have a split personality Kim from Nimbin, as well as Diver Dan from Pearl Bay. Are you still conversing, or is that cavorting, with the fairies at the bottom of your garden? How was this years crop of 'Magic Mushrooms' for you? A bumper harvest I hope.

I think fat Paul, we should swing on conciliation with little to none arbitration.

That conciliatory point is a mutual hatred of BB, and his "non-Christian son" best mate, who now hold the Legitimate Government of Australia by the tail!

"Go to it fellas. This is your chance to come to grips with your reality."

That looks to me like the response of a sad angry and pathetic little man.

[Putting on my best nasally whiney voice]
"I hate Hasbeen and individual and mhaze and Shadow Minister and Bazz and ALTRAV and LEGO and runner, and the other usual suspects too."

Grow up you little crybaby

Hi David,

You may well be the only Australian of voting age who is not familiar with the new super star on the political horizon of the nation! Yes, the one and only BONKER BARNEY, I am BONKER'S, not to modest, campaign manager. As a politician BONKER is above speaking, I speak for him. Come next election we fully expect our man BONKER to be elected Prime Minister, through a popular write in vote. Fantastic!

BONKER is a politician who opposes politics.
BONKER is a politician who loath politicians.
BONKER is a politician who collects bottle tops.

Three great attributes for any politician would you not agree?

BONKER is very much a political leader in the mould of a Winston Churhill, or maybe a Franklin D. Roosevelt, more likely a Joh Bjelke-Petersen. Well at least one of those three great leaders of the 20th century, not sure which one.

I head you say. What about policy?

Well BONKER promises to solve in his first term in office at least ONE of the THREE great issues facing mankind today.

1. The elimination of World poverty.
2. The creation of World peace.
3. Get Foxtel to rerun 'I Love Lucy', for the umpteenth time.

BONKER is extremely confident he can achieve ONE of those THREE noble goals in his first term in office. How about that!

If you don't see BONKER'S name on the ballot paper, don't despair, just write in at the bottom I VOTE BONKER BARNEY FOR PM!

Just remember our catch cry!

IF YOU WANT A CLONKER, VOTE FOR BONKER!

As an alternative we have the equally catchy slogan

IF YOU WANT A SHONKER VOTE FOR BONKER!

We will use that one later in the campaign for positive reinforcement of voters. Great idea.

We hope to graffiti (at night so no one sees us, especially the coppers) those slogans on toilet walls, fences, footpaths and peoples cars, trains and buses all over Australia in the next twelve months, what a vote winner. When it comes to political advertising Clive Baby eat your heart out. How about that.
