Believe me, other than musicians I have no contacts in my life with any artists, liberal or otherwise, and I don't discuss politics or topics like this with musicians (we discuss music instead), thus nobody tells me what to think: my thoughts and reflections are completely my own.

I think we can agree that porn is harmful, but the sight of natural human bodies is not pornographic. I even believe that the deliberate hiding of natural human bodies from an early age is the main cause of pornographic abuse. The evidence is in Europe, where people are so used to nudity that they do not even notice it, whereas in China, when ladies' feet was a taboo, a porn industry was created around the feet of women, same for faces in Saudi-Arabia.

Let me share my two experiences from Germany:

I was attending a residential workshop, which had a lady cook to prepare our meals. One afternoon when we had a break, I took a longer stroll which took me around the main building, there I saw the cook sun-bathing in the nude. As I was looking with disbelief, the cook was alerted, thinking that I came to complain about the food: "was there anything wrong with lunch, sorry, I hope not!" (I then praised her food and she turned peacefully on the other side).

Another night some of us were strolling naked outside after a sauna, then we approached a balcony belonging to the owners next to a berry-bush, so one young lady from the group came close to it and picked some berries. I was startled: "aren't you afraid that they will see and catch you?". "Oh", she replied and blushed, "but I only took very few berries, 2 or 3, is this considered stealing?".

I wonder if the words "morality", "instinct" and "nature", to name but three words that govern and control topics like this, are considered.
I absolutely do not sanction the single toilet idea.
Call me a prude, call me backward, call me whatever you like, I've been called worse, but this is not about me, it's about safety and respect, and most of all towards the children and those not in a position to protect themselves against the "nasties" of the world.
I am assuming we are talking about "public" toilets.
Those examples given in favour of these "multi-sex" toilets, are all "in-house" toilets, where there is a certain amount of discretion by a perpetrator, due to the closed environment of the toilet being inside or near a very public area.
I believe they prefer "public" toilets where they can monitor and control the situation more effectively.
The idea of one toilet for all is a practical one, but completely ignores the psyche of todays more "diverse" public with much lower morals than ever before, and it is a growing trend.
Such things as rape, swinging, slutting, equality and many more unsavoury and socially un-acceptible practices and lifestyles.
Those promoting such an idea, by simply dismissing it as a lack of maturity and I imagine, their catch phrase would be, "grow up", do not have a realistic and current view on life around them.
Toilets are a very controversial topic, and to be so flippant and dismissive is to refute the real problems facing this concept.
At least in this country.
Anyway, NO, this medium is about opinions, well in MY opinion, it's not a good idea, and the reasons are a matter of record with all the victims that suffered as a result of toilet encounters, are there to confirm it is not a good idea.
So the next time any queers or confused, just grope around your crotch and if you've got a penis, you go into a male toilet.
If you don't feel anything down there, you go into a female toilet.
This seems obvious enough to me.

Yes, I believe that we all prefer and appreciate a private toilet space and this should be encouraged where it is feasible and affordable. We ideally should not have anyone around us, regardless of gender, when we answer the calls of nature.

But there are places where this is not feasible, or where segregation would drastically reduce the overall toilet capacity where it is needed. In such places, it is detrimental to divide the space along gender lines.

I am not convinced that today's public is less moral than ever (have you got numbers/evidence?) and as for "rape, swinging, slutting and equality", what have these to do with facilities for urination and defecation? Practically nothing!
In any case, rape can also be perpetrated by homosexuals, whose toilets are not currently segregated from heterosexual people. Rape can also be perpetrated in so many other places, including offices, elevators, cars, fields, churches, schools and private homes.

I believe that for a large part, sexual abuse is caused by a dysfunctional intergenerational training to consider certain body parts as "dirty" and mysterious, where parents teach their children to identify with a gender and give them the message as if viewing the hidden parts of the other gender is life's biggest "achievement". Parents might not be aware that they do it and why since this is what they learnt themselves as children, but behind this is the parent's desire for reproduction and grandchildren. I consider such teachings as one of the worst forms of child-abuse, inflicting a psychological wound on one's child which is very difficult to heal. Yes, we ought to grow out of gender identification and I care not which gender or sexual orientation it is.

This is a terrible error: we are not a sex, I am not a sex, you are not a sex, nobody here is.

Unisex Toilets? I think we need people with practical experience like Alan Jones and an intellectual giant like Barnaby Joyce if we are ever going to solve this question.
