Many home invasions are not as random as first thought. Should put the takings in the bank, but if you're part of the cash economy and avoiding tax etc by stuffing the dosh from the take away business in the toilet cistern, then an occupational hazard could be criminals busting in and knocking the joint off. It pays to be honest.

I only know of two home invasions in my local area in over 30 years. One was drug related, the other involved the taking of $30k the home owner, who also had a business, had stashed in the ceiling. Word gets around.

Indy, me thinks you're safe, how do you invade a blokes home when he lives up a tree?

Paul1405,
I think you're even safer than I because any self-respecting moron thief will be too scared to target you for fear your silliness will rub off on him !

ise miserable you understand don't you?
That post was just plain silly?
You always, to me at least seem to be about a block and a half away from reality street
You asked me, that question
I answered with tougher laws prison terms no cuddling of the criminal who did it
Persistently you ask the same question but too refuse to see the answer as valid
Get well old fella

Issy, in your new bute Dodge City of the future, what position will those on Motorised Scooter hold. Will they be your mobile armoured division? Will the Grey Brigade have special uniforms? Please give me the plan, because like you I am also 100% committed to the cause of truth, justice, and the American way! Whatever that is, particularly if the NRA are picking up the bill, just don't forget the uniforms.

Belly,

What do you see as a way that the elderly can protect themselves?

Don't tell me that they can pass a law to punish the criminals, punishment comes after the crime, it's stopping the crime that is important.

Paul,

How are you and the other Greens getting on with disarming the criminals?

Nothings is going change. Nobody is going to be allowed to tote a gun on the strength of the very few attacks on the elderly. I would be more worried about a bunch of geriatrics waving guns about than I would the remote chance of getting assaulted. Attacks on the elderly have been blown out of all proportion by the irresponsible media - as usual.

Statistically, assaults on children aged under 15 are twice that of assaults of all people over that age. Most assaults on the elderly occur in institutions and family situations.

Let’s not forget: this thread was started by someone making a lot of assertions without any proof to back up those assertions
