If it wasn't for undemocratic compulsory voting, Shorten would have fewer people voting for him. If it wasn't for compulsory voting, preferential voting, and early voting, the Labor party would be struggling. Particularly now, with the Coalition losing so many supporters. The votes of those lost supporters are not going to Labor. Voters concerned about the 'nothingness' of both major parties are likely to be concerned mainly with who to put last - Labor or Liberal.

And, Morrison really shot his bolt for me when he paraded his mother, wife and children at his official kick off. That's worse than Labor's past PMs. This is the same bloke who, last week, was shedding crocodile tears about nasty press on his enemy's mother. 'Don't touch the families', he bleated. Well, pal, keep them to yourself, and it won't happen.

SM if you are right, thank god SOME liberals had enough guts to do the right thing.

I know you lefties would never do anything, no matter how critically it was needed, to reduce their chance of election. Not one of them has the decency to do what is needed, when it may be against their electoral fortunes.

I'm not sure you art right anyway. I know a lot of voters, who would never vote for a party led by such a disgusting bit of garbage as Turnbull. In fact I have heard quite a few say they would not vote Liberal again, as long as Turnbull was a MP for them.

I guess some of them will now vote liberal in the house. A lot less are likely to vote Liberal or Left in the senate. From what I hear, Anning is gaining quite a following around the traps. It will be interesting to see if that actually carries through to the pooling booth.

It appears that anyone who is anti immigration, & particularly middle eastern & African immigration will poll pretty well, if voters put their X where their mouth is.

I suppose I should read more of your stuff SR. I missed this doozey from you, "By any measure if we were to strip away all media bias the LNP would be far poorer for it".

SR lying is not usually very productive, but the worst mistake anyone can make, is lying to themselves. You can not in any honesty believe there is an LNP bias, with our near communist ABC, & most of the other media being far left of centre.

Of course this was highlighted by the medias liking for the lefty ratbag, Turnbull. While he was leading the LNP there was some question of which party was further left.

I find I can't get Foxy to stop believing & even quoting the total garbage one finds in the Guardian, I guess when a lying rag prints the stuff you want to believe you actually like the thing, no matter how bad it is.

You obviously know better, so I guess there is some gravy train of the left you are riding, hence your absurd comment.

AH truth, it matters, hurts some but in the end it matters
Never in my lifetime has the LNP been under threat, because Liberal voters are out to? take Liberal seats
Abbott Dutton Wentworth, all likely Liberal gains, small l Liberal, Large L loss
No easy task when your own party is leading the charge against you

Jo Nova is acting in the national interest by highlighting the apparent madness of Bill Shorten, who shows he is cost-benefit illiterate.

Given that most countries are not adhering to their Paris Accord promises -- excepting China and India which will emit CO2 as usual until 2030 -- and given there is no obligatory, scientific or economic justification for Australia to adhere to the corruptly-agreed Accord, it is pointless for Bill Shorten to 'big note' himself by imposing much higher renewables and emission-reduction targets, implementation of which have been shown to permanently damage the Australian economy and lead to loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs.

Individual:
Labor, Fairfax and the ABC are joined at the hip.

On most issues, you could add the Greens and GetUp! as well.
