According to news.com, Peter Dutton has told parliament that illegal immigrants who were on Nauru and granted asylum in the U.S have advised their friends still on Nauru that they would be better off going to New Zealand or Australia where they have good welfare systems. In America they are expected to find work!

Just think how much better our economy would be if we allowed them to work rather than spending vast sums to keep them locked up in inhumane conditions.

I'm sure that our farmers would be happy to employ them.
They may make big contributions to our rural outlying areas and
towns.

The irony of it.

Aidan & Foxy, that is the whole point, they don't want to go anywhere where they will have to work for a living.

Hasbeen,

How do we know that until we try it?

Also I believe that in Shepparton - it is a
success story. They've taken in quite a few
refugees - and all of them are working and
contributing to the community. Then there was
that town up North - where the entire town went
to Canberra for a refugee family to try to persuade
Mr Dutton to allow the family to stay in the town.
It was on the news.

Yes. Their keen interest in the welfare system shows that they are not interested in working. Our dole, plus all the perks makes life much better than they ever had where they came from.
