I think this is something other than drug addicts Jelly. A statement from the paramedics said a group of about 80 angry men attacked them and they had to barricade themselves inside the unit. I don’t know the area but according to comments online, Ringwood has a large Muslim population.
That makes far more sense because I have never heard of Australians attacking paramedics in a mob and certainly not drug addicts, who are familiar with overdoses and generally welcome medical help.

Further thoughts towards that line of thinking is that if these people aren't willing to pay for their own stupid choices, should the government, businesses and taxpayers foot the bill?
I think it should be easy enough to look at this issue and devise a better plan.

If you can't see the ambulance or the ambos themselves, the sirens and flashers on ambulances are difficult to distinguish from those of other emergency vehicles.

But I reckon even quite thick people know the difference between ambos and cops. And in the stories I linked to, the casualties in both cases were inside - one in a bar, the other in a unit block. I'm pretty sure the ambos would have got out of their vehicles and gone in on foot, rather than driving their ambulances inside a building

Footage would help identify the suspects so that they can be charged with manslaughter (and in the case of those who stone trains, attempted murder).

I never saw any confirmation of ethnicity of those attacking the

The attackers demanded that the ambos hand over the defibrillator and
get away from the patient.
The area has a significant muslim population and the behavior of the
relatives does echo what happens in Paris and Malmo.
Those cities and others have no go zones where ambos and fire brigades
will not enter unless accompanied by riot squads.
In St Dennis in Paris even postal services are restricted as moslems
do not want any government services entering "their" areas.

You may have seen the riots and car burnings in Gotenburg recently.
The fire brigades do not attend as they will be attacked and they just
let any fires burn.

I would ask what you think Muslim immigration has to do with the first of the stories I linked to yesterday. And also this story from a few months back:

Now, it is true that neither story mentions the ethnicity of the perpetrators of those cowardly assaults, but we know that they were drunk. Which doesn't necessarily rule out Muslims; they are physically capable of consuming ethanol and getting drunk off it. But as a general rule of thumb, they don't.

Of course, but not only lock them, make them work in detention @ $10-15/hr until they've paid back the costs they incurred. The more they repay the sooner they get out of jail.
