My persistence is because in all my years of dealing with Hasbeen the times he makes assertions of fact with actual numbers attached (that are able to be assessed even at a distance) are very rare indeed.

Global cooling touters often retreat to the 'local' when they feel under siege and we all know the supposed events on his property are hardly proof that Global Warming does not exist as he implies, but this is about treating his claims with the same skepticism he directs at the hard working folk at the BOM.

I'll bet steely still thinks stress is the cause of stomach ulcers too.

Stress is a contributory cause of stomach ulcers. I presume by now everyone knows they're caused by bacteria, but what's not as well known is that many people without stomach ulcers also have those bacteria in them.
