I don't think that you will deny that our planet has
a finite amount of resources, or that it can tolerate
only a limited amount of pollution.

Therefore thinking logically if our world's population
continues to grow rapidly, if industrialisation continues
to spread around the world, and if pollution and resource
depletion continue at an increasing rate - something's got
to give. And we need to ask ourselves - where is human
society heading? At the very least - massive changes await.
Changes which may include rising sea levels due to the melting
of the polar ice caps, as well as an increase in occurrence
and severity of storms and other severe weather events.

Should we ignore what scientists are warning us. Scientists
who globally are carrying out global warming research - and
what they are finding? I guess it's your choice.
However, you're not alone in this. Galileo was put under
house arrest by the Vatican for saying that the earth moved
around the sun. In fact, in 1633 the church made him recant
his theory of the universe.

So today, we see that new ideas instead of being welcomed for the
opportunities they open up for the improvement of the human lot,
are threats to those with vested interested who are confronted
by scientific facts. Nothing new here.

main problem is Hassie that the fraudsters have already won in pushing up electricity prices astranomically where many in cold places can't afford suitable heating. Unfortunately their silly little games are sending the nation down the toilet economically. Most of the swamp sit in tax payer funded air conditioning half the time not even bothering to turn off lights.

The increased volumes of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse
gases released by the burning of fossil fuels, land clearing,
agriculture, and other human activities are believed to be
the primary sources of the global warming that has occurred
over the past 50 years.

Scientists from the Intergovernmental Panel on climate
carrying out global warning research have recently predicted
the average global temperatures could increase between 1.4 and
5.8 C by the year 2100.

As mentioned earlier changes resulting from global warming

It's interesting to remember that in Australia in 2006,
leading climatologists with our country's pre-eminent
public research organisation,CSIRO, were forbidden by the
organisation's management from publicly discussing the
implications of climate change. Management was acting on
behalf of the government. And Australia is one of the
standout countries in terms of human development status.
It is not corrupt. Its science is world class. None of this
mattered.

In 2006, the Australian Government's position was to cast
doubt on global warming and refuse to enter into UN agreements
such as the Kyoto Protocol. With the release of the Stern
Report on climate change, the Australian Government's
position changed. Yet the Prime Minister remained half-hearted
about a commitment to counter-global warming. Little had
changed as history has shown us over hundreds of years when
ignorance and vested interests are confronted by scientific
facts.

New ideas, instead of being welcome for the opportunities they

to those who had become comfortable in their ideologies.
