487 Visa = Skilled Regional Sponsored visa.

Apparently people come on this visa and if they get pregnant guess who pays the maternity leave, the employer, wrong answer right answer the taxpayer.

http://www.news.com.au/finance/work/at-work/service-station-owner-pocketed-employees-12000-centrelink-parental-leave-payment/news-story/03f61cb7c2442fdb43573db2500d7960

A NSW service station owner who pocketed his employee’s $12,000 parental leave payment from Centrelink and then created fake records to “deceive” investigators has been slapped with a whopping fine.

Kulpreet Singh, the former manager and part-owner of the United Petroleum roadhouse and restaurant at Marrangaroo, near Lithgow in NSW’s central west, has been fined $19,720 and his company Noorpreet Pty Ltd a further $98,700 by the Federal Circuit Court in a case brought by the Fair Work Ombudsman.

It’s the first legal action brought by the workplace cop over failure to transfer Paid Parental Leave funds to an employee.

“Mr Singh was, to be blunt, well and truly caught out by the FWO, perpetrating a deliberate falsehood in relation to the false payment record,” Judge Nick Nicholls said.

The Indian woman, who was 29 at the time, worked as a chef at the roadhouse on a 487 skilled regional employer nomination visa. After she had a child in 2015, the Department of Human Services transferred $11,538 to Noorpreet for the company to transfer to her.

1st question is why are taxpayers paying this $11,538 not the employer.

2nd that amount seems high when someone on newstart only get approx $14,000 per year.

A quick check on this link http://www.humanservices.gov.au/individuals/services/centrelink

Will give a insight into why so many people want to be here, the number of reasons people can get taxpayer money defies logic.

From Bereavement Allowance, Newborn Upfront Payment, One-off Energy Assistance Payment, Stillborn Baby Payment just to mention a few.

When will the rorts end? How long is a piece of string?

They will continue until our slack political class calls halt. But while they are relying on mass immigration to cook the books, they aren't going to stop it. The people benefiting from mass immigration are big government, big business and the immigrants themselves. The rest of us miss out. We are worse off in fact.

Skilled immigrants. They are the ones driving taxis because their English is not good enough to get what ever job they conned immigration into believing they could do. Their navigation skills are not much good either.

The only solution is to stop all immigration.

Another thing to remember is that most of the immigrants coming here now, courtesy of our stupid government, are from dysfunctional countries where rorts, corruption and bribery are a way of life. They don't suddenly get honest when they arrive in Australia.

Just seen: solicitor sister of Salim Mehajer has been struck off the roll of lawyers for trying to mislead the Federal Court to help the shonky family. How can a person, whose English is so bad that she said, “I can't do nothing” have passed law exams in the fist place?

ttbn - correct it was only recently loads of immigrants were supposedly minding the children of others who in turn were minding the children of the other person and claiming child care payments.

"More than 165 family daycare providers have been forced to shut their doors across Australia after the operators were allegedly found to have been falsely claiming subsidies.

The joint state-federal government crackdown has seen 117 providers lose their accreditation and 49 providers have their accreditation suspended.

In NSW alone, 124 family daycare providers were shuttered between June 2016 and June 2017, representing about one-third of the sector."

Also the incompetent public servants who don't do there job properly.
Quote "$5.4 million in taxpayer funds claimed in alleged childcare fraud"

March 13 looked like a red letter day for iGrow Family Day Care as it signed 1775 children onto its books.

Listing its head office as a small white weatherboard home in Sydney’s west, iGrow recorded the supposed torrent of new bookings in July - and then backdated each entry for the previous four months.

Despite this breach of the rules - and missing paperwork from 143,000 logged child care sessions - the government paid out $5.4 million in rebates and benefits over 14 days.

Millions of that was then siphoned into another company’s accounts, as part of an alleged childcare fraud that would count as the largest in Australian history.

The case draws attention to government oversight of taxpayer funds, after a series of high-profile rorts and federal Education Minister Simon Birmingham’s promise of a “laser-like focus” on illegal operators.

Anyone with half a brain should have realized an increase of 1,775 in one day was a monstrous red flag something was wrong.

Your 2nd post
What about the slimy Ex Politicians you could not fill out the forms and keep the money.

Philip S,
>1st question is why are taxpayers paying this $11,538 not the employer.

Because putting the burden of paid maternity leave onto employers would be terribly unfair to small businesses, and could discourage them from employing women.

>2nd that amount seems high when someone on newstart only get approx $14,000 per year.

That's because it's based on the national minimum wage. Newstart payments aren't linked to the minimum wage and haven't risen so fast. Governments like to be seen to be effective in keeping spending down, and the unemployed are easy targets due to the widespread perception that they're just bludgers.

We are a rich country, and it's only right that we look after the people who are in terrible situations. But I suspect those who think Centrelink would rank in anyone's top ten reasons for wanting to be here are those who have never dealt with Centrelink!
