With the Safe Schools programme supposedly to combat bullying; is bullying so great in Public Schools that they need a curriculum subject to be taught by teachers? Is it not the parents responsibility to teach respect and behaviour? If physical violence is occurring the Police should intervene. Some areas of the subject cover very personal aspects of a persons life, is it wise to expose sensitive children to open discussion on sexual difference? Especially since some areas like sexuality are covered without parental consent. Children in puberty years could be groomed and influenced by teachers against the best long term interest of the child.

No.

//Is it not the parents responsibility to teach respect and behaviour?//

Yes. But it is also the school's responsibility. It's not one or the other (false dilemma), it's both.

Quick Josephus, get the kids out of those unsafe Public Schools and into the safe hands of the pedophiles down at the local Catholic School. Is that what you want?

Is not this bloke the head serang in Australia of your church?

"Australia's most senior Catholic Archbishop accused of covering up child sexual abuse has had his trial delayed because of medical issues.

Philip Wilson, the Archbishop of Adelaide, was due to front Newcastle Local Court today, but had a pacemaker fitted six days ago and remains in South Australia.

He was arrested two and a half years ago, and has tried, and failed, three times to permanently stay proceedings."

Paul,

What would 'Sister Mary' have to say?

Issy, she would probably be in your camp sticking up for those Catholic degenerates you love so much.
How did your Shooters and Hooters do in the recent Queensland election. Shot themselves in the foot no doubt. Following our recent Victorian success, the Greens look a chance of getting their first seat in the Queensland parliament. How do you feel about that?

I have an 11 year old granddaughter in year 7 who came home the other day all flustered because apparently in sex Ed at school they were shown a model of a penis and then a demonstration of how to put on a condom.
This is a girl who still plays with dolls at times! She doesn't want to be confronted by images of penises and nor do I want her to be. It's far too young.
And for all those of you saying kids are having sex at that age, that is probably true, but it doesn't mean we should encourage it or condone it. It's highly illegal for a start.
We don't teach kids on how to roll a cigarette or make a bong. We should be more concerned with classes on how to avoid it for another couple of years.
To me this is grooming of children too young to be thinking of sex.
