What do you mean by “but”, Armchair Critic?

<<Well I won't support the Christian lobby on stupid issues where they act unreasonable either, but some of the issues you mentioned are moral issues …>>

Does that make what they do okay? Do you think marriage equality not a moral issue? Religious groups certainly think it is.

<<I don't oppose abortion, but I most certainly oppose it being used as a lazy excuse for birth control.>>

Heh, tell me about it. I really get annoyed when these lazy women pop down to their local abortion clinic every month or so to terminate a pregnancy for $800 just because they couldn’t be bothered arranging a 20-dollar box of pills. I mean, how much time and money do these women have?!

<<Not everyone agrees with [Safe Schools] and it's more or less mandated.>>

There are a lot of things that are mandated which others don’t agree with, but that doesn’t make them inherently divisive. If the Safe Schools program taught that those who disagree with it were going to hell or should be killed, THEN your attempt at spotting a double-standard might have had more meaning.

<<I'll give it one week from when it passes to when the first Christian Pastor is up on charges of discrimination for not allowing a gay marriage in his (or her) church.>>

I don’t care if you give it a day and turn out to be right. It’s a secondary issue.

<<Why don't you discuss protections for them and maybe they will stop carrying on?>>

I didn’t realise I had that much authority. I have no strong objection to protecting bigoted churches from being bigots. In the end, it will be their own demise.

<<You won't do that because the real intention is to attack and vilify them, isn't that?>>

No, it’s not.

I will admit, though, that I would have a lot of difficulty feeling sorry for religious groups in such situations, given the amount of bullying they've been guilty of over the centuries. Your claim reminds me of this classic meme:

Hey AJ Philips,
Your entitled to your opinion as am I, and you've got your vote just as I've got mine.
I'm willing to compromise if the other side is too.

Get rid of the indoctrination of kids, and provide protection for those who have different beliefs to refuse service (in a church or in a Christian bakery for example) and I'll be much more willing to consider accepting gays wish for marriage equality.

Otherwise the people on your side of the argument have already decided for me.
Simple.

So funny/sick that those who oppose the obvious creation being taught in schools push so hard to have biology rejected when it comes to sexuality. No matter how deranged a mind becomes its obvious that a penis is designed for a vagina.

Paul,

We must be reading different stuff. It seems to me that it is the pro-SSMers who have become really nasty bullies, although I'm sure that some of the 'nos' haven't been very pleasant.

I have to confess to knowing only three homosexuals (they are not particularly 'gay' people) and they have no wish to 'marry', and will be voting 'NO' in the upcoming postal survey.

A mention of Ireland today: that country has abolished legislation protecting conscientious objectors to their recent surrender to SSM agitators. The same would probably happen here, as we already have the obnoxious Section 18c.

Given the growth of the Muslim population in Australia, I think there will be a lot of nastiness that will make what you now complain of look very peaceful. I don't think the Left's friendship and apologies for Islam will help very much.

Paul,

You might be pleased to know that Bernardi told a Tasmanian radio show that the only people who have acted honourably on the dual citizenship thing are the Greens. On the other hand, you might not want to accept a compliment from such a 'far Right' character?

Excellent.
Let’s ignore the confected divisiveness of the gay lobby who want every man, woman and child to pitch in $5 to vote on the validity of their delusion.

Looking forward to your support for traditional marriage.
Thanks in advance.
