Dear Banjo,

Here's another link from the Sydney Morning Herald:

http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/eman-sharobeem-faces-corruption-watchdog-accused-of-rorting-public-of-685000-20170501-gvw224.html

A Current Affair on Channel 9 dedicated an entire program
to this woman. There are whistle-blowers who have come
forward. There is evidence of her activities. But as you
say - nobody can comment at present because the case is
pending. Who knows she could claim a mental illness and walk.

We'll have to wait and see. The evidence against her is
overwhelming though.

Foxy,
Thanks for the link, I had seen it before.

As you know I have long had an interest in preventing FGM and underage marriage in Aus. Comments by Emam Sharobeem have came up for years in relation to underage marriages. Because she managed a medical centre, I took it the Doctor tittle referred to her medical quals, I just thought that she was seeing patients and giving medical advise to women that spoke little English. Her comments on underage marriage seemed to focus on the size of the young girls.

Since the centre has closed, I hope the patients have found other alternatives to get medical advice from. Unfortunately the number of underage marriages is rising as is the rate of FGM and state governments seemingly reluctant to identify the 'at risk' girls

Shadow, by saying "may well have known" does not apply guilt or innocence, and their utterances are not in dispute, to say the court must act with "impartiality" does not imply guilt or innocence, the impartial finding may be in their favor.

Nick Greiner former NSW Liberal Premier, was found to have acted corruptly by the NSW ICAC. From the Labor side we will throw in Ian MacDonald, just to name one. So there is no lie on my part. On your side you can put in 'Boozy' Barry O'Farrell, also a Liberal premier, his demise the next day, after fronting the ICAC, can be put down to a catastrophic loss of memory!

Dear Banjo,

Thanks for that.

Hopefully that centre will re-open once this case
is finished. It's a pity that innocent people have to
suffer because of this woman's fraudulent behaviour.
All the more reason why she should have the book thrown
at her. She's robbed not only taxpayers but the very
people she's supposed to have helped.

Paul,

There we go again with dishonesty. Nick Greiner on appeal was found not to have acted corruptly. Similarly no finding whatsoever was made against BOF. So you weren't telling the truth. In fact the only findings of corrupt behaviour are for labor.

I do see that there is an accusation of rape against a greens staffer. Your comment?

Foxy, "She's robbed not only taxpayers but the very people she's supposed to have helped"

Exactly. And she has brought the services into disrepute.

What is concerning though is that those who had a hand in her appointment in that and other roles and those who were charged with the responsibility to monitor, for instance CFO (finance executive) and Corporate Services executives may escape accountability.

Australia is not as though this is a Third World country. Public administration in Australia is highly developed and there are regulations, guidelines and best practice manuals. There are audit committees and risk assessments and a program of audits. Executives are remunerated very well indeed for their professionalism and ethics.

This errant fraudster is the tip of a iceberg where problems in governance of quangos and contracted services are concerned.

So, what were those executives thinking? Or will the responsibility be rolled downhill to junior staff?

The management controls are there, but obviously were not operating. But it takes action, not simply inaction to do that. Isn't the public entitled to know what went so wrong and who (plural!) are going to be held accountable for that?
