For many years the public has been regularly shooed away with 'never you mind' where the sacred cows of immigration and multiculturalism are concerned.

"Lies, deceit and fraud: How Eman Sharobeem took taxpayers for a ride

. Eman Sharobeem arrived at the ICAC on Monday a much diminished figure from the heady days of 2014 when she stood alongside then premier Mike Baird and received accolades as a finalist for the Australian of the year.
..
Sharobeem faces ICAC accused of rorting public purse of $685,000
When she applied for the IWHS job, her CV contained no mention of a masters degree nor PhD. But by 2006 her CV claimed a PhD in psychology at the American University in Cairo. She began a diploma at UTS but abandoned it two years later.

She used the false qualifications in a calculated manner "to promote herself publicly" and in applications to funding bodies to receive funds for IWHS, Mr Rajalingam said.

She also used them in an application for Australian of the year 2015, claiming to have studied at university, obtained a PhD, a masters degree and a bachelor of business, the ICAC was told.

She also used the qualifications to obtain government appointments to the board of the Community Relations Commission and the Anti Discrimination Board, roles for which she was paid handsomely.."[SMH]

What about some of the decision-makers who were apparently asleep at the wheel being held publicly accountable? Bluntly, did the senior bureaucrats who failed the public in this case still get their performance bonuses?

-Not that their political masters at the time would ever be volunteering to be held accountable either, but they should be.

that is what happens leoj when a nation denies absolutes. Secular Humanism sees the elite taking sides rather than championing the truth. If you or I committed an offence we would be disqualified from public office. On the left breaking the law seems to be a badge of honour.

If someone had the intelligence to actually check her out and found something not right she probably would have played the racist card.

The question is how many more fakes are out there sucking on the public purse.

It is about time Public servants are held accountable for there stuff ups.

The use of the racist card needs to be more thoroughly examined.

Good to see you three have once more applied the "presumption of innocence" before finding someone guilty as charged, which Ms Sharobeem may well be. But correct me if I am wrong, but is not the ICAC in the process of investigating the matter, and has not as yet come to any conclusions.

I have long agreed with the NSW ICAC and the work it has undertaken investigating correction in the State, despite some politicians and others, trying to white ant the commission, it has been very successful. Its adverse findings of corrupt behavior by politicians both Labor and Liberal is well documented.

Paul1405,

That is a news report you are objecting to. But of course the Greens would be wanting to pull the tarpaulin over corruption and wastage of money in the victim industry. It's a big joke on the public isn't it and it is only taxpayers' money where the Greens are concerned.

"Eman Sharobeem ICAC revelations should horrify taxpayers
..
In 2014 Ms Sharobeem nominated herself to the Australian of the Year awards – and for the first time on Thursday the public saw her claims: a PhD in psychology, a PhD in management and organisational leadership, a masters degree of social science.

The Australian of the Year awards accepted her as a category finalist.

For 11 years Ms Sharobeem ran the Immigrant Women's Health Service, a non-profit, publicly funded organisation funded by NSW Health, with funds also coming from Family and Community Services and The Smith Family.

To date, broadcaster SBS, which employed Ms Sharobeem after she left the IWHS, has declined to comment on her CV.

Social Services Minister Christian Porter last year announced Ms Sharobeem as a member of the Settlement Services Advisory Council. A spokeswoman has said the department conducted due diligence.

But where was the oversight? Is the support of some of the weakest in society subject to a quick check of someone's CV with no due diligence?

These revelations should horrify taxpayers." [SMH June16,2017]

With a headline of "Eman Sharobeem ICAC revelations should horrify taxpayers" is that a statement made by the ICAC? No, I think not, more the headline of a newspaper. Then that headline is linked to undisputed facts, a standard bit of journalism. The inference is Ms Sharobeem has done something wrong, she may well have. I am not defending the woman at all. But I will let the ICAC conduct its investigation first, before pronouncing judgment.

As for your usual bit of guff, and sour comments about The Greens. We are thankful for the work the NSW ICAC has done in uncovering corruption in this state. Your gal Pauline is fortunate that there is no Federal ICAC, looking into matters concerning her, and One Nation's, financial claims against the taxpayer. A federal ICAC is Greens policy, not the policy of your mob I see Leo.
