Is Mise, you know full well there are legitimate, and rightly so, community concerns about gun laws, and gun control in general.

Long Bay is where it is, and should remain where it is. Are you coming over to the dark side, or should I say the green side, talking of open space.

Politicians and their kite flying. A mega prison at Picton with 5,000 inmates! Now they can negotiate down, and settle on a 3,000 inmate establishment at Gudgegong, where the locals will be over the moon at the prospect of jobs and growth!

Paul1405, (to Is Mise) "you know full well there are legitimate, and rightly so, community concerns about gun laws, and gun control in general"

No that is a misrepresentation and a misstatement - as in to state wrongly and falsely - of public concerns and the problem.

The public and that includes those many thousands of reputable, law-abiding citizens who have firearms licences, are concerned about crime and the threat of personal assault and home invasions.

Most serious violence, including with weapons, is associated with drug trafficking and dealing, and the imported ethnic gang members add to that with their traditions of violence to solve even minor disagreements (add their noxious traditions of 'honor' maiming and killing of girls and women).

Gun Control is Different. It is politically inspired and directed.

The sinister leftist, secret squirrel, overseas interests that are behind 'gun control' are a different kettle of fish entirely, having the international socialist goal of disarming the western democracies.

As can be expected of the flakey Greens and particularly the Trotskyists of the NSW 'Watermelon' Greens, they are the 'Useful Idiots' along for the headlines and ride with the highly secretive overseas interests behind 'gun control'.

There is NO way in hell Australians would want to be supporting secretive overseas interests and corporations, such as that billionaire international currency dealer who was found guilty of a serious currency offence by a French court (he appealed and lost again) and is reputed to have nearly sent the Bank of England broke.

Paul1405,
What links do the NSW Greens have with 'gun control' activists and with those publicity-shy overseas interests, especially corporations, behind it?

Beach, the only person around here who misrepresents things is YOU! Just as the community is concerned about crimes and the threat of personal assault and home invasions, including the crimes associated with drugs etc. The community is also concerned about the crimes committed by people not associated with those of whom you speak. Like the killing of Environmental Officer Glen Turner by a farmer, or the death of Gabby Moinar at a shooting range, the mass murders committed by both Ivan Milat and Martin Bryant and many other deaths in Australia associated with guns, but not with drugs and gangs etc. The community is rightly concerned these issues as well.

What is also of concern is people of the extreme right, who advocate a private "citizens militia" under their control no doubt. One with links to right wing extremists in North America and Europe, people who sympathise with the actions of the mass murderer Anders Behring Brevik in Norway.

The Greens are a moderate political party with no such links as you infer... Where do you stand?

Paul1405,

You would stretch anyone's credulity denying as you do any links between the Greens and the extremists behind 'gun control'. Maybe you could explain how both have near identical outlandish statements and false data and claims?

The highly secretive, sinister, overseas interests `behind 'gun control' who constantly interfere in the domestic politics of western countries and provide corporate support and seeding money to leftist demonstrations, for instance 'Occupy' nuisance demonstrations against 'capitalism', are threats to the democracy and to the security of western countries. Any wonder they and the 'gun control' activists they sponsor are so secretive.

In Australia, 'gun control' is alleged to just be a couple or a few public servants with phones, internet connections and fax machines for their press releases.

That being so, it is simply astounding how 'their'(who knows where it originates from) gun control bumpf finds its way into the media and particularly the ABC apparently unedited and no allowance for balance from the peak associations of the licensed thousands of citizens affected.

The Greens are cynical of course, anything to protest and get those headlines to keep the favoured, selfish elite in the parliament and doing SFA but whine.

Not being a Sydneysider, I'm a bit puzzled: why is everyone so keen to keep the developers away from the land that would have an extremely high value for housing?

You might remain puzzled why parts of Sydney Harbour are not reclaimed to be built on as well.
